thanks for everyone telling each other about how to activate the cards i think the main points we were making were that we didnt actually recieve contactless cards and that santander are useless.

Can move banks in 7 days, and get paid to do it. Why put up with their consistently rubbish service.

Update...

New debit card arrived today....unfortunately its just a standard non contactless card.

Ordered on Thursday and it turned up yesterday. Quick service given the Easter weekend really.

No hassle and the card works a treat :-)

were the accounts 123 or everyday current account for the contactless. just opened a joint account for weddings savings.

Just sent a secure message asking if they can replace my current card. I use my amazon credit card everywhere except aldi and costco and just assumed the santander card was contactless. Was actually surprised when I pulled it out of the wallet and saw it wasn't.

My Santander Debit AND 123 CC were replaced this month, both with Contactless. Having now used them both, there's no way I'm going back!

Got a reply to the secure message, if you have a chip and pin card they will issue you with a contactless card if you want one, you just have to phone them. They said it will take about 7 - 10 days to arrive.

I can't believe banks still get away without issuing contactless. Barclays and The Co-op (my banks) haven't even given you a choice for quite a while now.

Barclays wont give me a contactless card at all on my BBA. Apparently I'm not worthy.
