Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Dusty for last week's thread

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Hi all, please may I join?

I've just seen you mentioned on the "What's been popular" thread and I need serious help with organising my cleaning. My house comprises of me, OH, 4 dogs and the cat and subsequently gets very dusty and hairy on a daily basis. I love lists and as I'm a teacher, I am on holiday for the next two weeks so this is the perfect time to kick start an improved approach to cleaning.

Looking forward to the start of the challenge :)

Hello all :). I'm in. Have been out all weekend. Went to Dyrham yesterday. Overcast and cold so we only stayed a few hours. Then took the littlies down the prom for a couple of hours before tea.
Today we went for a long walk along sand point then went to BiL's house.
Physio tomorrow, SiL is looking after littlies while I'm there.
Just got to get on with the list tomorrow :).

I'd like to tag along again, please. Not done a great deal but I have done something so I'll do what I can in the odd 15 minute chunk, resting in between (no ladders, no lifting). Bought a weekly bus ticket on Saturday so did 2 runs to DS2's with the food from my freezer plus 3 charity shop runs (just using the mini rucksack) and SM in the evening. Cleaned and defrosted the freezer and been to get the food back today.

Planning the rest of the week - hoping to get lots more out of the house + food in and start restocking the freezer.

    Welcome fmess :hello:

I would like to try again. Started last week okay and then it all went t*ts - up :rotfl: Will definitely try harder this week.

Cane toad still locked in cupboard but THE BALCONY IS FINISHED :T. All cleaned, painted, boxes and shelves on walls and artificial grass 'carpet' back down. Gosh - all in 3 days :j
Now I can fill all the boxes, tubs and pots and get some plants. BTW my parsley survived the winter and the mint is coming up again :)

Hope you soon feel better and that you've not got the 'pox too. I caught it when I was 29 and it was awful - spots everywhere (and I mean everywhere)

Hope you all have a dust-busting Monday

I already had the pox twice (I had it, then my younger brother, then 1 sister, then our other sister & then I got it again.. I of course had it half term and easter hols so got no time off school.. I'm good like that! .. I am NOT going for a hat-trick!! The 3 tiddlies can have it though, that I can cope with! OH will likely get it again.. he had it as a sprog but he gets everything .. he will have shingles, the pox and this infernal cold next week you watch!! LOL!!!!

We are meant to be going to his mothers next weekend so we get to share with all of them too.. germfest !!!!!!!!!!!

I have found a loving home for my fabric stash.. flingage at its best.. a whole cupboard full leaving the house.. now to decide what to store in the cupboard.. I think it may be pushchairs, vacuum cleaner and sewing machine.. I am overjoyed at the prospect of room!
