Realism Vs Idealism?

Is it that you want your husband to engage with you and your child more instead of watching TV, or that you don't want his noise to distract you from what you're doing independently, but in the same space?
If it's the former, I'd suggest a frank discussion where you tell him you find the amount of time he spends watching TV detracts from your time together.
If it's the latter, how about asking him to use headphones, so you can enjoy the quiet?
(OH and I don't watch much TV, but right now he's sitting next to me watching football with the sound off while I read my favourite websites.)0
