At work DD was put forward for an overnight stay at the Malmaison hotel in Oxford and her name was drawn. (On performance) I looked it up on internet and have seen it is actually a converted Victorian prison which I think is a great opportunity to see a hotel with such character.
My DD's work hand over their gold card whenever a holiday is a prize. So, they have a room each, all food and drinks, any excursions and when a holiday abroad (Africa, Hong kong, in fact anywhere in the world) even the gifts they bring home are paid for!!) They don't spend a single penny!!
My DD however, sees this as quite creepy stating imagine all the murderers etc that must have died there so there must be ghosts!:rotfl::rotfl:
I know she wont be too fond of sleeping in that room on her own ( she can't sleep in the dark). so, I'll be kept up all night with her on the phone unless she doubles up with someone. :eek:0 -
Hi everyone
Does anyone know if the Homebase 15% is online too, from tomorrow. Thanks0 -
Multibuy off - small glitch on various Dairy Milk choccie 200g bars (thanks to DeeDee). I saw you mention it last week DeeDee and have been keeping an eye on it. It has to be on a C&C or delivery only.
Prices are £2 or £2.25 each depending on which variety you get. But in store, they are 2 for £3 so you get a price adjustment when you collect.
Examples are:
Cadbury Dairy Milk Nutty Caramel shows 200g £4.50 v £3 (but you've only paid £3). Cost is 60p per bar.
Dairy Milk Whole Nut 200g - £4 v £3 (again, you only pay £3). Cost is 85p per bar.
They then compare as 2 for £3 in T, S and W but you must check which flavours.
If anyone is in A, we need a list of which ones are included in the 2 for £3. I saw Dairy Milk, whole nut, nutty caramel, fruit & nut.Tiger

Because if someone gets hold of them they can actually transfer the house into their own name with the deeds. So, if someone broke in they could literally steal your house :eek: Actually you shouldn't really keep them in any house, they should always be kept securely in a safe or the suchlike in safe premises.
Thank you, brilliant idea
thanks for the information about the deeds I did not know this, I have 3 sets with the solicitor but 2 sets in the house  phoned solicitor and am going to drop them of to them in the morning, better being safe that sorry, my solicitor does not charge for keeping them :T
enjoy your dinner with oh and hope he has a great birthday0 -

I had to drive past this morning and it's good to see plants in the window sills. It is now someone else's home. It felt ok.
TS I've been following your story and I think you're amazing in the way you've coped. I'm so glad it has all worked out well for you. Your description of your last visit really touched me. I'm glad you drove past and saw the plants. Someone will be very happy in the bungalow cos it was a happy home for your family, and I think that the good vibes live on in houses. Enjoy what your Mum left you. Not only the money that will make your life so much easier, but the happy memories too. The tears will get less, and the smiles at the memories will become more frequent, until one day you can think of her, and talk about her without tears, just smiles. Hun, have a big hug, you're amazing.:D
Got a few (cough:o) whiskas yesterday. Some bowls already donated to my neighbour for her house rabbit and her cat, and to DS2's gf, (who is an absolute sweetie) for her new cat. When DS1 gets his house he and gf want a couple of cats, so bowls put away for them too. Thanks to its a secret for the find.:T
It's our coven meeting today at JF. I really don't need free cake. I'm struggling with my weight since I stopped smoking. I'm looking forward to our meet up. It's so nice to have conversations with like minded peeps who don't look at you as if you're loopy when you tell them about your bargains.
Still got stuff to do for our holiday. DH and I bought new cases from TK Max yesterday. They were on clearance, and we saved loads. So glad I didn't buy them last week.
I've got things to do for work, a mega house clean, garage and freezer tetris, meals to cook and freeze for DS2, online banking, an outfit for my friend's daughters wedding next week and goodness knows what else. The days are not long enough.
Off to get ready for our meet now. Sorry for the long post. I keep meaning to post more of DH's photos, but there is never enough time. I promise to post lots when we are in Antigua, cos my time is my own then:j:j:j:D
Hugs to all in need.

It's a fabulous hotel!!!!! Tell her to look forward to it.:j I've stayed there 3 or 4 times and it's not creepy at all. There are two parts to the hotel (one is the original cell blocks, all tastefully converted but small rooms and they are in the main part of the wing - it's like "bad Girls" with the atrium, over two floors, white metal steps etc.
Or she could ask to be put in the new part - nothing like the main bit so not creepy if it freaks her out. there's a nice cocktail bar, good restaurant with yummy food. If she's driving, get her to pre-book car parking. The valet deals with it when you arrive cos parking in Oxford is a nightmare. the hotel parking is actually cheaper than anywhere else i've found. (think it's £15 for 24 hours).
If it is sunny, she can go up to the roof terrace, where they serve drinks on top of the hotel, looking down onto a square that does Shakespeare plays in the summer
And finally she has to go to Raoul's cocktail bar, a ten mins walk - one of the best around.Tiger

I know it is only a small risk, and is very unlikely, but it is something that is easy to avoid.
I think it's strange that I have had no letter from the bank as my mortgage will be paid off within a couple of weeks!!
