Where to start with parking eye?

Just arrived back in the UK to find 3 letters from Parking Eye. The 1st, complete with photos, say I was 19 minutes over my 3 hour time in a retail park, is dated 5th March. The second is dated 14/3 and the last 8/4. I left the country on 2 March and returned today. Where do I start with this please? They have threatened payment in 14 days they will involve solicitors/court action. Is it too late to do anything?
I am only in the UK for 2 weeks than have to leave again for work.

read the NEWBIES thread at the top if this forum, it tells you all you need to know0
-
I have read it, but it talks about first appeal etc and this letter says I have no right of appeal after this time.0
-
appeal anyway, dont believe all they tell you , they are biased
if you dont appeal, they will issue court papers, so get it done and dont beat around the bush, even if they reject it due to the time limits , complain and appeal anyway
if you had read the newbies thread properly, you would also know to complain to the landowner or their managing agents as its the quickest way to get these cancelled
doing nothing will bring court papers upon you, you can be assured of that ! (its their new tactic , ignore brings a court paper)0 -
That's the question really - surely if they have photos with times attached, then I have no case? I was attending a crafting group in one of the stores, hence the length of time.0

Then you had permission to park for that amount of time.
Send the appeal - you are worrying about mitigating circumstances. The appeal deals with the law."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
if you had read the newbies thread, you would know you have a case
but your reluctance to look into this properly means you are arguing with those trying to help you instead of actually doing what the newbies thread tells you to do
there is even a template letter in there with the grounds you appeal on ; so how you can say you have no case is beyond me !
for clarity, read this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4835943
what you dont realise is that you challenge the legal rights in sending you this invoice
not a gpeol
no contract
bad signage
etc
nobody here is interested in "what happened" , unlike yourself, the point is the charge is not valid as its a penalty punishment, they may not even have the legal right to issue charges or court papers
how do you know that they do ? - no you dont
so as you asked for help, accept the help and move on, otherwise you will be back here asking for help with court papers , like many others recently0 -
If you have a copies of your flight tickets I would add that to the appeal, inform them that it's unreasonable to expect you to appeal when you are not in the UK. They would be nuts to take this to court when they have proof that you were out of the UK, any district judge would see this as no cause to bring a claim IMOWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Thanks - I actually don't understand even PCN gpeol POPLA so was seeing if somewhere there is a guide to these acronyms.
I have never received a threatening letter and I have no idea of parking situations in the UK which is why I thought I would come to a 'safe' forum first. I realise you do not care of anyone's situation.
Thanks Storma and Hot Bring. I left the country by car (not the same one) but would have proof of that.0 -
Yes give that proof, but only copies not the originals.
GPEOL = Genuine Pre Estimate Of Loss
And if you read coupon mad's sticky thread there is an explanation of acronyms in them. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Well, I started with the flow chart - maybe that wasn't the best place to start. So then I started to google to understand it. I'll try the walk-through process.
Ferries no longer issue paper tickets - it's all electronic, so I always have records, only ever copies.
No longer being resident of the UK, it's a little hard for me to keep up! But hopefully I won't have to return for a court appearance.0
