Flossy splodge, sometimes grandparents are wise to keep their own counsel.you as a trained counsellor, a trained life coach and a scientist ( according to previous threads) and with a daughter who's currently breast feeding ( again according to previous threads) should perhaps take your own advice see your quote below

Dear oh dear oh dear.
Such a pity you're not this country's dictator as you are so sure you know so much and are right.
We're all entitled to our own opinion and I'm a scientist and I don't 'know' the err 'facts' you state so categorically.
One reason why people grow up to be unhappy is if they have not learnt to consider a wide range of opinions and be flexible to the beliefs of others.
Just wonder if you're English in origin?
We do have our own funny little ways.
Oh yes, just like most nationalities!0 -
What mothers used to do years ago is breastfeed their child before going to public places, thus avoiding the need to feed their baby in amongst a crowd of strangers, common sense really.
I wonder if the baby thinks it's common sense to have its feeding routine disrupted because its Mum is going into town and doesn't want to offend anyone sat in M&S cafe......0 -

Thankfully times have changed and nursing mothers are allowed to leave the house, I think they call it progress.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I never found the need to do so in my own turn, some years ago and certainly do NOT want to witness someone else doing so.
I appreciate modesty has gone out of the window these days but I would be the one complaining if forced to witness this when trying to have a peaceful cuppa.

Very small babies often need to feed every 2 hours, so should mothers make sure they only go out for an hour and a half to ensure that no-one else has to see their baby eat?
Why is it that everyone else seems to be able to eat in public? Children, adults, the disabled, the elderly, bottle fed babies, just not breastfed babies?0 -

A recent comment on the video:
This is really ridiculous. No one should be exposing themselves in public places, there is no need for it. It is incredibly easy to pack bottles in a diaper bag when you have to go out. Pump at home and take it with you. Some people are acting like there is no alternative. I for one do not wish to see all of that. For goodness sake, have some class ladies.
Why do so many Americans have such hang-ups about the human body? Class?
Difficult to see how feeding a baby could ever be an issue for anyone. Or how a thread like this could even exist!0 -

Well the answer to your question is quite obvious.
Because only in the case of breast fed babies does someone have to expose a part of their body that it is normally considered impolite (or even offensive) to expose - albeit only momentarily.
As a society we have decided that, in the case of feeding babies, it is acceptable to make such an exposure.
Some people are not happy with that. I don't really see why this should be surprising to anybody.
Unfortunately for those people it is just something they must learn to live with.
I can think of many things that are a lot more offensive than someone breastfeeding a baby (assuming you even find that offensive) that we have no option but to put up with. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
