  • You could plait 3.

Did you hear about the man who went to the barbers with 3 hairs on his head? He told the barber he wanted one down each side and one at the back. Unfortunately, while the barber was combing them one came out. Oh he says, well one on each side then. So while the barber is combing them another comes out. Oh I'm really sorry sir says the barber. Oh don't worry says the man you can just give me the tousled look. :rotfl:

Sorry, that was a joke from when I was 12! I used to think it was hilarious.

    I actually spluttered at this!

  • Lmao SS! I didn't think. When my whiskers grow back I shall plait them... :o :rotfl:

GAP - It's been a long week ;) - you can't really give someone the tousled look with one hair, so the man is obviously oblivious to the fact that 3 hairs isn't enough. I took 2 reads!

Where is our dear Giblet this week hmm?

    Hope you're ok Gib!! xx

  • I know, when we were 12 we thought it was hilarious. But you are right it's so not (8i guess a lot of things were amusing back then which aren't really - we were 12 year olds before the digital age too). Read Mark Prensky as I am a digital immigrant. Kids today are so much more sophisticated.

I promise no more bad jokes (ooh there was the one about the hedgehog.....:rotfl). Sorry :rotfl:

Thanks for explaining lilt. I normally get jokes :( Long week, yes. I think I kind of did get it but didn't see how it was funny. Sorry SS. Please keep the jokes up! I was also 12 before the digital age (apart from digital watches, although you were a nerd if you had one of those). Maybe I would have got it if I were 12. Not that I'm suggesting that only 12 years olds would get your jokes. Oh dear, t'was a late night last night and early start this morning. Right now Little Miss Gap would say "stop digging mum". I'm going to go away and shut up now :(:D

    Hope you're ok giblet! :)

  • Hi Gap. Don't worry, it isn't funny. I was just wittering on and getting my quota of words out. Probably homework avoidance tactics.

Am getting slightly worried about Gib. Hope younare okay Gib - we are missing you. :)

Hey guys! Thanks for all your birthday wishes, posts, jokes, beardy comments etc. You've had me laughing here.

Really sorry for going AWOL. I don't even have a good excuse tbh. I've been very tired, and couldn't face putting my comp on, and then each day I meant to, and it didn't happen.

All is ok here. DH is really enjoying his new job (the hours may even be increased in the next few months, he's been so awesome already). Work is ok; very busy and still really far behind tho so it's worrying me. Mum is still having up and down days, but overall, the hospital doctor seemed to think she'd improved since discharge so happy days!

On MSE front - I got my CPP refund! £200 :) only downside is that they've issued the cheque in the wrong name, even though I told them I'd got married :( Need to sort this out as it'll be straight to loan overpayment once the plaster is accounted for (I might just do it anyway!).

We did go a bit over on groceries (YNAB was not happy) but we were able to juggle things, and were within our means overall. Trying to scale back further again this month, and we've been really good actually; very little spending outside the very essentials. DH has also been doing some lovely meals on the days that he is at home, so the 'house husband' bit is working well.

In less happy news, we're still waiting on the plasterer to get back to our house, and we've no heating (it's freezing at night). We also still haven't got our final bill from Scottish Power (we left in April) although they have stopped threatening to take us to court for £450 we didn't owe them! Us threatening them with our own court action may have helped. Also, I still haven't received my train money back, from April, despite being assured it'd be sent electronically. MUST get onto it!!!

Hope everyone else is well? I'll try and catch up with diaries over the next few days, but apologies if it takes me a bit. I've missed you all loads and thanks again for keeping the diary 'warm' for me

    Love Gib x

Good to have you back Gib. Fab news about DHs job, so glad he's enjoying it and yum to the lovely meals he's been cooking.

Glad to hear your mum has improved and hope your less happy news gets sorted soon :)

Hello Gib, good to hear from you.

Glad you're feeling more like yourself again, and there's lot of good news in your post, which is great:)

Hope you get your heating sorted out soon. I can put up with a lot, but I don't like being cold in my own house.
