It has to be school holidays because of my job so we're thinking about next February half-term. We've got a couple of ideas for venues but I want it to be quite informal - no bridesmaids or speeches!

^ This ^ was exactly our thinking and reasons for marrying in Feb half term, it was very romantic, snow on the ground etc (you might want to factor the risk of that in though if people are coming from far and wide)!

A few bit and bobbins were slightly cheaper because it was out of season, although watch costs for things like flowers - if you want red roses that time of year the price rockets due to the highly commercial angle of a romantic date which is almost always in half term week! Looking forward to hearing about the planning!

Great result on free dog food! What type of small dog have you got? I'd love to get another puppy but am banned from mentioning the P word ...!

    Hi Habibiboo :hello:

I've just been reading about your dogs on your diary :)

We have a Jack Russell cross. I'm feeling a bit upset actually because I noticed a strange lump growing out of her gum this afternoon. The vet managed to squeeze her in at the end of the day and she is booked in for an emergency op to remove it on Tuesday. He said it could be something nasty, but also could be nothing :( Thing is, she is our baby and we're both quite worried. She's currently dreaming and whiffling by the fire :o

Looking on the funny side, OH pointed out that when I had a similar-ish scare a couple of years ago, it took 2 weeks for an emergency appointment with a consultant. It only took 25 minutes to see the vet :rotfl: And thank goodness for pet insurance.

    Edit - forgot to add:
    • OH bought me some chocolate home to cheer me up :T
    • We're about to go for a walk as I had to cancel my plans this afternoon meaning that I only left the house once today and that was to go to the vets!

Not much to report today. The weather has been lovely but I can't say I've appreciated it. We've been very worried about the dog and OH has spent a lot of time on google - never a good idea :(

    Anyway:
    • Took a couple of car loads af rubbish to the dump
    • Walked 4.5 miles in the sun
    • Low spend day - just £2 on an ice cream
    • Mr T order made using £5 of £40 voucher

  • Hi Janey, I'm sorry to hear about your dog, it's always difficult when they're ill. Sending a dodgy looking :grouphug:

    Happy Easter everyone :easter_os

Thanks Tilly, we're just trying not to think about it at the moment. It's silly how attached we get to our pets isn't it? I have never seen my OH so upset in more than 10 years.

Anyway, on with not thinking about it!

Yesterday was quite nice. We went to our nearest big town for OH to get his hair cut then went to look at wedding rings. I found one for just over half the price of the last shop we went in, and OH likes a nice titanium ring for around £90 :T We plan to shop around before we buy but it's getting cheaper :) I'm also looking to sell and old gold and diamond ring that I was given as a child. I can't remember which cousin gave it to me and it didn't belong to anyone my mum knew, so she suggested I sell it and use the money towards our rings. The first shop offered me £75 and the next one offered £150 so I'm going to try a couple of other shops before I decide.

    We also:
    • Picked up washing line from Mr T, will save money by not using tumble dryer whenever it gets put up...
    • Paid £68 of £2 into bank which will go towards some new summer clothes. My wardrobe needs some serious updating!
    • Bought some wrapping paper and a half price Easter egg in M&S using an e-gift voucher I got from Sw@gbucks ages ago

In the afternoon, we went for a 2 mile walk on one of our favourite local beaches. The dog ran approx. 15 miles in circles around us. It was sunny but cold and we all managed to smile.

This morning we applied to switch OH's bank account to F1rst D1rect for the free £100 and so we can put more of our renovation savings into a 6% regular saver (I already have one).

S123 interest and cashback is in and added to spreadsheet. £5.60 cashback and £15.86 interest -£2 account fee. Not to be sniffed at :D

:o I may also have eaten most of the half price Easter egg :EasterBun

We are having dinner with OHs family today and with my mum tomorrow which will be lovely. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend :)

Hmm, what a long rambling post :o

    Janey x

EDIT: Easter egg is no more :o:o:o

So far this week I have walked 12.6 miles. I think I'm going to record the total each week for a while then try setting a target. I love walking and I love a target :D Plus it's free exercise :money:

Sorry, I somehow missed replying to this!

One thing I'm enjoying about this diary is writing lists of things I've actually done, rather than having endless lists of things I need to do :)

Happy Eater :) I have eaten half an Easter egg and have had to put it away so I can't eat the rest! :D

Eater Day is a much more appropriate name for it if you ask me :rotfl:
