The Aldi stuff (dog & cat) is actually OK and if I'm in, I will buy a couple of tins of each & put in the box I fill for my local rescue
BUT I'm afraid, it's not as good quality as many of those mentioned on here (wainwrights, forth glade, lukullus, nature diet, nature menu etc) which is really where you need to stay if your dog has allergies / sensitive tum etcGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
Ladies - ( and gentlemen if any are here), as I am sure I explained in my first post, I order everything for home delivery as I have no time/desire/transport for "normal" shopping.
So have to be able to order online for home delivery - ideally for Saturday but failing that, if can be left out for few hours.. neighbour lets delivery into the staircase (secure door entry) and they leave outside my door. Of course not raw/frozen...
Thanks...xx0 -

Don't take it personally, it's replies like this which remind me why not to go out of my way to help some posters!0 -
Sorry if my reply came out as rude, this was not intentional at all, really sorry.
As above - I am looking for place that will deliver. I get ALL my shopping delivered as really do not have the time/transport/energy to "go shopping" in a normal way.
And I am looking for a decent quality food too - from my experience most of the food from supermarkets is nto good quality.0 -
Right, Burns moist arrived yesterday - of course Zara loves it.
Would be incredibly pricey to keep her on that alone so will be mixing with Orijen Fish which was her "usual" for good few years now.
According to Dog Food Calculator, Zara needs 1007 calories per day.
1 pouch of Burns Lamb is 360 calories so daily she will have 1 pouch of Burns plus the rest 660 cal has to come fro Orijen Fish.
as Orijen Fish is 39.8 cal in 10 gram, we need 160 gram Orijen fish = to make a total of just over 1000 calories split into 3 meals.
Will see how we get on with that.0 -
Op has found a solution for her- just leaving my comment though in case it helps anyone else looking for a more MSE option.
I use anglia meats raw food- the K9 working dog traditional. It comes in frozen blocks as a complete food- just defrost on the windowsill/in cupboard) and slide out of the pack-it includes carrots and peas/bones etc. Have done for years. I supplement with a few crunchies (skinners) and leftover vegetables. I adjust the amount of crunchies to adjust the dog's weight. It is incredibly easy and only wish I had this much control over my own weight- I keep both dogs pretty much spot on ideal weight all the time. Mess and fuss is kept to a minimum with the frozen blocks and the dogs seem really healthy on it. My GSD has a very sensitive tummy (think Somme in your kitchen) so I have had to search a bit for crunchies she can tolerate when I went MSE (holistic dog biscuit being best but much more expensive.)
I get the frozen stuff delivered to local pet shop- he keeps it in the freezer for me to pick up at the weekend. Lots of places offer it-but the k9 traditional seems less popular (no idea why as it is great) so he orders it in specially. Worth investigating in your area I would say- if you can find a stockist they can add your order to theirs and you could pick up on way home. Frozen is so much easier. I cannot imagine dealing with all those lovely smelly tins!0
