In Essex we have:
Green wheelie bin for garden waste,
Small green bucket for food waste,
Plastic sacks for recyclables, and a
Grey wheelie for everything else.0 -
I have 3 half size bins in front of my terrace and I am not allowed to let them touch the payment. Someone complained about this and I got a stern letter threatening a court fine if I did it again. I fall over them as I leave the house.0

Terraced houses in Peston with narrow pavements have one large bin in front of the house. They look terrible but they have no option.0

Since moving to the middle of nowhere we don't have any bins, no regulations, no boxes littering the road on windy days, no unsightly piles of bags over flowing boxes which are too small for large families and no litter where the foxes have ripped open the bags and spread the rubbish everywhere, it's refreshing to free of such things. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

1 large box for glass
1 large green bag for cans and plastic bottles
1 kitchen caddy for food waste
and I can give them a plastic bag with recyclable textiles0 -
We have
1 standard wheelie bin for all recyclables
1 standard wheelie bin for garden waste
1 small wheelie bin for general rubbish
1 brown "bucket" (for want of a better word) for food waste and a smaller caddy for using in the kitchen.
This is standard and works well for us.0 -
we got a purple bin today ..I think it replaces a bag and a box ..still have a box for cardboard and now 3 wheelie bins ..I have to chop a tree down to make the new one fit ..not very eco friendly ..0

No bin but 2 recycling boxes. One for cans and one for glass.
The problem is they wont come into the garden to collect them and we cannot leave them on the path or road. So they never got emptied.
They also gave us a letter saying the cans and bottled had to be washed and minus paper labels. So i need to waste my water cleaning them and removing the labels?
I used them for home made compost instead and will be planting tomatoes in mine this year.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I have one tree and the four large bins.
The small tree is now leaning as I have had to make room for the latest bin!!0
