There was something on TV about this last year and one area has to have eight different bins!

The problem I find is that the more bins you have to sort your rubbish into for collection, the more bins you start to need indoors to make this in any way manageable.

We have three large bins since moving into a different county, previously we had two large, one small and a box. I despised the box! Much prefer the three bins and we have a thoroughly comprehensive recyling service.

Anyway, what's wrong with either telling council to take one back and refuse that service, or just store it elsewhere unused? Get some of those sticker things or build a wall/fence area to hide them. I'm not being funny but it's not like you're in a back to back with a postage stamp garden.

I wish I had shares in the companies making bins. Daft thing is, none of these bins are recyclable when at the end of their life.(unless things have changed lately)

    Compostable food waste?

We've got two large wheelies for general rubbish and garden waste, along with two separate crates for glass/plastics and paper/cardboard. We're soon to get food waste crates as well.
  • I like having 3 bins to recycle much more than 1 bin and bigger council tax bills.

More recycling seperation = more amounts the council can get for the waste.

    Rubbish
    Garden Waste
    Paper and Cardboard
    Bottles and Cans
My Partner takes home Paper Cardboard Bottles and Cans.2 Bins never been used.
    Complete waste of Council money!!!!!!!
  • 3 wheelie bins:
Recycling (paper, tins/cans, certain plastic bottles - depending on the recycle number on bottles & cardboard)
    Garden
    General household waste

And 1 silver/grey box for food waste

Council dont pick up glass. But use the old recycling paper/cans box to put glass in for recycling & take to tip every few months to empty

Two wheelie bins, one for general waste and one for garden waste. One box for glass, plastic bottles and cans, bag for papers and card and a food waste caddy which is emptied into the garden waste wheelie.
