Maybe I'd looked at the parcelforce prices who knows, it was a couple of quid I'm sure I can over it. Luckily it was me a not you as seems you'd have a breakdown not knowing everything budgeted to the penny

It still makes no sense though, the prices are not 'negotiable' if it states a price then that is what you pay. Yes I do want everything budgeted to the penny, if I went to the Po with my £2.80 parcel and they told me they were rounding it up to £3 I would be on the phone to head office immediately.

How can anyone manage if they either don't check the prices before they list or are being defrauded by the Post office?

I try and err on the side of caution with postage as the Royal Mail seem to charge completely different amounts to their advertised amounts on the website. Recently sold something with £10 p&p expecting ~£8 and it was £10 on the nose even cost me more to send it when ebay charged 10% on top

    Which is it then?

And I agree with you, had this arrived in a proper mail bag I wouldn't have given it a 2nd thought even with the £3.20 stamp cost as the bag would offer protection to the item but the black sack was a cheapo 100 bags for a £1 in poundland special. Thin as ricepaper, hence it ripping open in transit.

    lol I use asda ones...

by the way your shoes if bought from me would have been put in a poly bag and then put in a jiffy bag(if unboxed) K7 only cost 4.5p

if boxed with no over lapping lid it would have been wrapped in wallpaper.

if in box with overhanging lid it would have been wrapped in bubble wrap then wallpaper.

I prob would not have wrapped like your seller, would have at least have had cardboard round it.

I do notice there is a high amount of seller using black shrinkwrap.

Thanks, I gave them positive as the item iteself were fine. They were also posted within a reasonable time frame but I did give low stars for pp & made mention on the fedback that £6pp for a thin blacksack was too much.
That sounds like a perfect compromise to me. Everything arrived undamaged and as described, so positive feedback. Information about the situation left in the feedback comment, so that future potential buyers can see what to expect.

    Wrong...

You don't know the actual postage costs until the item arrives...
If an item arrives and the postage and packing costs don't appear to reflect what I paid I will contact seller, if no joy, low stars on P&P.

Is a seller wants to up their profit margin on P&P then they will get low p&p stars for their cheek.

And yes I may have been happy with the total price,
    BUT
I wont be happy if my item arrives with a massive mark up.

The clue is in the name POSTAGE AND PACKING
    Its not PROFIT AND PROCEEDS!!!

Agreed. When it comes to deciding what stars to give for p&p, it's entirely reasonable to base that on ... whether the p&p charges are reasonable.

I don't want a refund but wonder how to approach the seller to let them know my feedback will be reflecting their lazy !!! ways or should I just leave accurate feedback & not warn them.?

Why warn them? They could use that to have the feedback removed as potential feedback extortion. Depending on what you said in the message and the feedback comment.

Don't be bringing sense into the argument;)

If there's £3.20 postage cost and £6 charge it isn't unreasonable to expect the item to have more than 10p worth of packaging. The customer's evaluation of a transaction is all that matters to the DSRs and feedback telling them it is irrelevant is, in fact, irrelevant.:D

I once received a parcel but was unhappy with the purchase, I can't remember now but it was probably not as described or not working, anyway I put it straight back in the box, redid the tape and took it to the post office. I was charged more than the original post. I was told the scales at the original post office must have been slightly out, of course it could have been the post office I went to as I tried 4 scales there and it weighed slightly different on each one. It was just over the weight for the original price paid. I was fuming. I opened the parcel and removed some of the packaging but it was still a fraction over so I had to pay. Or not return the parcel.

The customer is asking how to evaluate the seller, and doesn't necessarily know anything about DSRs. It looks like you've got this back to front.
