Parcel received wrapped in thin black sack.

I won some kids boots & received them today badly wrapped in a black sack & a bit of bubble wrap (and I mean a bit) and about 3 strips of packing tape. RM £3.20. postage costs.

The sack had ripped in transit & fortunately the boots don't look damaged but I am a bit miffed that they charged me £6 quid pp & couldn't even be bothered to use a parcel bag.

I don't want a refund but wonder how to approach the seller to let them know my feedback will be reflecting their lazy !!! ways or should I just leave accurate feedback & not warn them.?

I am not a !!!!!!, I do alot of personal selling on ebay but always make sure my pp costs are within £1 of the postal costs by bulk buying parcal bags & recycling boxes from other purchases.

I would never send anyting wrapped in a black sack without at least first fully covering it in parcel tape.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

I got a digital set top box in a black sack. When I opened it the screws were rattling around inside and the hard drive had been removed. The guy's replies were blank messages for some odd reason, (probably believed all he had to do was hit reply to get away with it) So I went up there to confront him, it turned out to be a gypsy caravan site. eBay refunded me.

    so to recap.

You got the item undamaged. On time. For the exact price you agreed to pay.

However the quality of packaging was not upto your standard. I would suggest you enquire next time, regards the packaging that will be used. Then the seller has the opportunity to ban you from purchasing from them.

If the quality of packaging concerns you, you should really ask the seller for the specification of it before making the purchase.

    Oh here we go.

Item was undamaged. I didn't mention how quickly they posted it. Not exact price, I paid £6 for PP & they paid 3.20 on a stamp & shoved it in a black sack.

If they wanted 3 quid more at auction they should have put it as a starting price.

Justjohn, there are some things that are simply unacceptable, even if, by some miracle, it survived the journey. If the buyer doesn't say anything, the seller will presume it's acceptable and keep doing it.

And quidsy, the amount they charged for postage is irrelevant, you accepted it as part of the deal.

it got there undamaged therefore its acceptable in my book.

All I am saying is tell them or ask them give the seller the opportunity to ban you.

    Because that's fair.

and if they had upped their start price by £3 and reduced their P&P by £3 what actual effect would that have had? You would still be paying the same overall price .

I do agree with you to a point but when seeing £6 pp on a small item there is an expectation the article will be at least packed decently.

Also sellers are aware that signifigant over charging on postage is always a black mark. In this case they overcharged by 46% even taking off £1 for the "packaging" they were still looking for 30%.

This is one of the reason ebay is charging fee's on postage.
because buyers are unable to work out total price. they just have to dissect it. this is why you will see more FREE postage. And the buyer will loose out due to a minority.

BTW there is no such thing as over charging on postage. Admin fee is allowed to be added to the charge. and buyers are fully aware of the charges before purchase. (not even going to discuss that topic).

I have said my piece on this.

    Enjoy your purchase..and happy ebaying
