Maybe its because we are only 10 mins into eBays new listing regime,ie only 10 mins past midnight, but I see they are still listing 100 free 99p and under free listings + the 20 new monthly ones...............all running until end May.
This month ofcourse, only lasting just over two weeks..........................hope the above makes sense..........think I'll hit the sack now..........:o0 -
I have never had an invite showing in my inbox on eBay , I have occasionally had invites sent to my email address . I have been able to use very single FL event since Christmas bar one, although on at least one other occasion I didn't bother trying as it wasn't convenient.
If we get the alert from here and it is convenient for me I always do a test list even before I check my email messages. I would not be expecting one this weekend as there have been no alerts and it does not fit the usual pattern.
I have not seen it done like this before and only knew about it as it was in my friend's account that I was watching over for him while his broadband was down. When I checked there was a message in his other account too and my brother-in-law got the same message. I tried a test listing but no luck. This month's 2o free are till the end of May so a bargain as it is only half a month!

Has anyone had a private shop and been forced by ebay to make it a business account. I list 100 items a month as many are re-listing. It's not that they are worthless items but niche market items and it's a case of who is looking and when, some items can be started at 99p one week and not sell but go for £20+ when re-listed. If I change to a shop won't that mean ebay will force me to be a business?? All the items I sell are from a very large personal collection that I am breaking up so not bought and sold for profit.0

eBay do sometimes force sellers to upgrade but not so much as they used to. However , it might actually benefit you to open a shop as a business- go and read the differences between business and private shops. For a start a business shops give you 200 free listings.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I was surprised that there was no FLW this weekend, unless we are all missing something. Usually when eBay do something unpopular they hit the free events a bit to win people over.
I know eBay like free listings on bank holidays, so they are probably waiting for that ,and selfishly next weekend suits me better anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It had its advantages - cos high items with £1 start price and BINS are now free or cheaper.
And starting at 99p is defo a risk on Ebay now - you can end up selling at that price due to Ebays failures.
But 100 down to 25 does not go.
Also - went to list a low priceD item yesterday and didn't want to waste a free listing on something low value - so left it for FLW.
Wonder if they will also have 'double free listing' months etc.0 -

How do you become a private seller my account says I'm not ellagable for the listings?
Private as opposed to business, so if you are registered as a business the there are no free listings up under this scheme.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No its not a business account its a personal one?
Ok, did you ever use the free 99p listings successfully? If so the 20 free listings just take over from there.
If you we're not eligible for the 99p listings have you checked your expanded dashboard to see what has gone wrong? If there is an issue with your account you need to be sorting it as a matter of urgency.
Lastly, daft question, have you actually tried a free listing or are you just guessing you are not eligible?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
