ANYONE can accumulate a whole house full of items that are surplus to requirements, especially if like me they have lived in the same house all their lives and are the family dumping ground.
Correct. But as I said before in this thread, the pretend private sellers far outweigh the house clearance sellers, and ebay have decided to try and clamp down on these sellers who abuse the process.
Quite why you feel listing for free is somehow your right is beyond me, and you're just as condescending and patronising, and much more unpleasant, as some of the business sellers you are criticising.
Good luck with your sales.0 -

I don't feel it is a right at all, never use the free 99p listings and quite often pay for the first listing but not for relists, especially now it has gone so quiet. I have no objection to trying a CD for 10p but a 250% hike to 35p makes it untenable so the CDs will go elsewhere along with many other items. I have just listed a load of 1950s EPs that were going to the tip as my neighbour's family considered them "rubbish". I had no idea of their value and whether or not they were worth selling so for 10p each gave them a go and strangely sold 4 @ £5 to Scandinavian buyers who were collectors and really pleased to find them. But 51 are still here so will be relisted - are they "tat" in your book?
I don't consider expressing valid opinions based on experience as condescending and patronising or unpleasant, and if someone is going to make incorrect sweeping statements they need to get their facts right. I have noticed that you rarely offer any reasoned debate but simply snipe at others so obviously have nothing better to do. I have as they have announced the anticipated 4 day FLW.0 -
It'd be nice if you read my other posts in this forum before making 'sweeping generalisations'.0

That's a really good point. People are growing more and more impatient with Gumtree and ebay because of the rising fees and the restrictions they place on the number of free ads you can post. There are alternatives out there to which more and more people are turning. A really good one is bagit4less (can be found on google search). There are no restrictions whatsoever in terms of the number of free ads you can post. There are others but bagit4less is the one that really caught my eye. There are others but for me bagit4less ticks all the boxes.0 -

Have you bought from there because I just registered and searched for clothing but nothing comes up? Just wondered if you have any tips?:(0 -
You did notice it's his first post didn't you? Just some spammer from the crappy bagit4less site hoping to drum up some punters.

One thing I have noted and that is just how quick ebay are in removing posts on their forums that are critical of their policy changes.
I used to list loads on ebay, but never anywhere close to the 100 free listings per month that they have had on offer.
The one thing that does wrankle with me is all this AYRAB spatting that goes on, not only of here, but on ebay's own forums. When you consider that ebay deliberately discriminates against business users by charging them more than private sellers, then it is no wonder why so many businesses pass themselves off a private sellers in order to make a few extra pennies in profit.
If ebay charged the same fees to both private and business sellers and had exactly the same restrictions in place for both in order to create a level playing field, then maybe business sellers would be less inclined to pass themselves off as private sellers as there would be no financial advantage.Never Knowingly Understood.

It depends on the sellers and the categories. VAT registered business sellers often end up paying less. That said why there is any difference is beyond me, not sure why it needs to be quite so complicated. One thing I have noted and that is just how quick ebay are in removing posts on their forums that are critical of their policy changes.

As for removing anti Ebay posts on their own boards, I can't see why that is a shock. I went to a few Ebay university events a few years ago and they used to show some boards and have to scroll through all the negative comments, it never made sense that they ever kept them up. Constructive negativity is ok but Powersellers who constantly post that they hate everything Ebay stands for is ridiculous..0 -

It looks like Spammy4Less was deleted. What a dreadful site, there's no actual way of knowing if there is anything listed, from the several I clicked there is nothing there. They seem to have a load of Facebook pages to try and get the same response on here. It seems like it would be easier to just sell on a Facebook group, where there are actual buyers and things to buy..0 -
Many thanks for this.. haven't had an email just yet but I'm sure I will soon!0
