So basically, butterfingers is an unemployed 24 year old (46 next year) Glasweigan student with a great job, he's called called Josh and wants to remain
anonymous even though he has his name and photo printed in a national paper.
He earns £68k despite being on benefits and takes out payday loans as cant get a loan with Sainsburys despite him having an impecible credit record. He would also like the government to wipe his defaults and is a potential entrepreneur but he cant sell the house he bought at age 21 but is looking to buy a new house for him and his dog in his native Barbados with the £100k he inherited from his deceased granddad.
Butterfingers is also concerned he may get some abuse on the forum he doesnt like.

These companies are supposed to help people check out their financial situations, yet they seem to be on the 'ripping people off' band wagon.
Not a dig at you Tuono, but trust me, based on my experience the last thing any of the CRA's are interested in is helping people.
They are a business and in business to make money - this I of course understand, but their reaction to contact from the public when the person believes an entry is incorrect is a disgrace.
The majority (some seem better than others) appear to take the line "yes, we know you have shown us undeniable proof that the data is wrong, but the creditor maintains it is correct and we won't change it without their say so"
I think they are very soon going to get hit hard due to this attitude, as whilst they may have got away with it in the Smeaton v Equifax case (mainly due to him failing to follow the required process before taking them to court) there are people waiting in the wings that can show clear evidence of their disregard for joe public when protecting their own interests.
Basically, their behaviour/process is clearly not complying with data protection law and sooner or later, that is going to bite them
(sorry for the slightly OT!)
On topic, I have to say I find it distinctly amusing that this chap (OP) stuck to his guns and got the refund he was due despite the comments from many that appear to have believed it perfectly acceptable for Experian to (historically, I accept the sign up details have changed) hide the insurance within the T's and C's.
Well done sir, well done.

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!
