I'll post up some links tomorrow. From a fitness mag I subscribe to, some of them might be useful. Recipes and blogs.

That I agree with, and you'll find that "experts" agree also. In fact, the proper medical "expert" advice is far from encouraging fad diets, but instead is to go back to what nature means us to eat: vegetable, fruits, natural oils, some protein and some wholegrains. No doctor or medical nutritionist would advise otherwise.

Also, you should either provide a link or the appropriate source of the long passage you quoted.

    I can't post a link cos I'm new here :D

But if you search wikipedia for "Peer review" you will find it.

If you get a chance watch it, it was surprising

The low fat twin not only performed better physically but mentally, he was more alert and although he could eat more than the ow fat twin he still lost weight

The low carb twin lost the most weight but it was mostly muscle and he was very close to becoming diabetic

I don't want you to think I'm throwing your advice back in your face because I'm not, I appreciate it it's just I will never be a low carb person

I watched the program and it wasn't a true test in my opinion.

One twin was low carb. The other was low fat.

But the low carb twin was allowed no carbs. It wasn't low carb, it was zero carbs. No vegetables whatsoever. None! How is that a true test?

No-one in real life would eat all protein, nothing else

Pizzas like that are lovely but they are big, bigger than the ones I get

That's because they're meant for sharing. As I said earlier, I eat a quarter of it for a meal, maybe a third if I'm really hungry, along with a side dish of mixed salad leaves. So that's approx 130g-170g and about 280-380kcals.

I'm sure that's far less than the pizza you choose to eat. I also eat this maybe once every few weeks when I can't be bothered to cook. It's healthier and cheaper than a take-away.

The Iceland pizza is quite small I believe. Around 360 cals per half pizza.

Also, personally speaking, I don't have anyone to share food with. I live on my own and always have done. Which doesn't mean I can't have a bit of a pizza, but certain food that shares two I wouldn't buy, because some food doesn't keep too well after cooking.

If you like that half pizza once a week, keep eating it. Not a blow out by any stretch of the imagination.

She's not eating half a pizza though, she's eating the whole lot and at least once a week.
