I think to be fair, a lot of people have commented that Jack Monroes portions are quite small, Ive seen a lot of people online say her meals dont have much to them.0 -

Ok, I have to admit I haven't actually looked at them. I do think portion size is a major issue for many people though and greatly contributes to obesity. I was just reading a study this afternoon that makes exactly the same claims. Will go find it and link back here.
Ok, here it is. I know it's a US study but we're not that far behind them in terms of obesity and related illnesses.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

If a bigger portion fits within my calories what's that problem?
There's no point eating too little (unless it's a day I'm not very hungry)0 -

The way you're controlling what you eat by calories is precisely the reason I abhor calorie counting. You're eating crap food but as long as it "hits your calorie intake" you're happy. This is in no way a healthy approach to food, nor are you eating a healthy balanced diet in terms of vitamins/minerals and macros etc.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

My diet is a lot heather than it was, I'm proud of the changes I've made so far and I will make more as I go0 -

No its not, but I think the portion size issue is always going to cause debate. Ive seen people post on the boards how much they eat in a day and its tiny. Id be very surprised if some people are eating enough per day.
So I wouldnt be surprised if they spoke about a portion size and I spoke about a portion size, we might have some differences in what we consider a portion to be.
Ive seen people when Im out and about eating piles of food in a restaurant and I couldnt eat that and likewise Im sure there are people who struggle to eat, in fact I know people like that.
I do agree in the respect if someone is eating a slightly bigger portion and counts the calories into a healthy eating plan, better that than to eat a smaller portion, not feel satisfied and then binge.
Also, plans like slimming world, certain foods are free and as I said earlier they obviously dont expect people to eat piles and piles of rice and potatoes, but I bet people dont sit and weigh out the free food all the time when they are on the plan. I didnt when I was on SW, that was many moons ago now and I wouldnt go back to that way of eating.
But I bet there are people who will eat more than what some people consider a standard size portion of food regularly and they still arent obese.0 -

To be fair, packets of crisps aside, I think she has tried to make some changes to her diet for the positive.0 -

Thank you, it saddens me that people are talking like I'm not trying when the reality of it is I am
I bet no one here has a perfect diet and eats 100% healthy 100% of the time0
