I've been trying to tell my bf that semi/skimmed milk isn't always better but he wasn't having any of it! Had some apple with it the other day but will try some more of your suggestions!
Thanks
Edit: wow Nicky that is awesome! I need to lose about 7 stone to be in the healthy range so it's inspiring to see someone who's made positive changes and got results!
I admit I use semi-skim milk as I consume large amounts of it, not only in tea etc, but also as I make my own kefir and drink two large glasses of it daily. It must be organic though, or the possible antibiotics in it might damage/kill the kefir cultures, since they are bacteria (the good kind though).Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Pizza is once a week! And crisps are definitely out, I didn't enjoy the ones I had yesterday at all! I had 1600 and odd calories and almost 700 of them were crisps, so yeah they're out
why did you eat the 4 packs if you didnt enjoy them? Was it mindless eating? That to me is boredom eating.

I'm loving this thread - it's making me feel motivated!
I just want it to happen quickly - I expect myself to lose a lot of weight very quickly and feel a miserable failure when I don't.
I have been considering spending a month or so on Cambridge - just to give me a boost.
I have been the same all my life... wanting to lose the pounds quick. Losing quickly isnt the best way.. a pound a week is much better.
I would also avoid cambridge. I dont think VLCD are healthy not matter what marketing rubbish they spout..
Wish you lots of luck..

I didn't deliberately cut them out - I just found they took up too many valuable calories. I taste husband's carby food, and pick at bits here and there, but don't, say, have a sandwich at lunch, or a jacket with tea, and definitely no white.
breakfast is porridge, or occasionally (hungover) egg on wholegrain toast. Lunch is crackers and philly and salad, or a huge salad with ham and egg, or tuna, maybe some homemade soup. Tea is fish, chicken, turkey, bacon loin or similar, and a huge plate of veg.
I still don't have much in the way of carbs.
Can I just say, based on what you have put for your week day menu example, you are still having plenty of carbs.
Although it is good for you, oatmeal porridge is high in carbs.
I can't see where your menu is low carb, unless you just mean you are eating less carbs than you previously were.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

That's right. She says she has plenty to occupy her, but I reckon most of it involves sitting at one screen or another. So it is all too easy to eat mindlessly when simply sitting there. I often used to feel like eating when I'm online, but I fought it and now it doesn't happen. You would have to be pretty bored to stuff 4 bags of crisps, it can only be eating for the sake of it.
If you are actually engaged in a 'real' activity then the urge to eat doesn't happen. I never feel like I need food when I'm driving, listening to music etc. And when I went to football matches it would never occur to me to go and buy a pie or a hotdog.0 -

I ate them because I wanted them, how would I know I wouldn't enjoy something till I had it?
They've changed them (they were walkers) they were tasteless0 -

There's plenty that don't involve a screen0 -
Oh goody, a Tinks diet thread. I haven't seen one of these for ages! Will have to read through all the pages later.
Anyway, to answer the op, I suppose I am struggling in a sense. I don't have quite as much self control as I used to. I usually end up snacking in the evenings - nothing too bad because I don't buy things like cake or biscuits, but enough to stop me from losing more weight.
I have stuck around 11 stones, bmi 26.5. I am not really focussing on weight loss any more but more on keeping my waist measurement at a safe level (50% of height) and minimum 3 hours of exercise a week ,in addition to walking every day. My other goal is eating minimum of '5 a day' ,small amounts of things like pasta, wholemeal bread etc. and cutting out all (or nearly all) of the obvious crap - sweets, crisps, takeaways etc.
Tinks, I don't know if anyone else has suggested it, but have you ever tried Paul McKenna's techniques? I have often thought that your real problem lies in your attitude to food.0 -

did you not realise after pack 1 that they didnt taste the same? I am unsure as to why you would continue to eat another 3 packets of the same crisps if you didnt like them?
I am bowing out of this thread as you seem to be in some sort of denial..

I bought a copy of the book I can make you thin a few weeks ago, was 99p in a charity shop so I thought I might have a look at it.
It might be worth a read.0
