You asked for posters to provide proof to back up their opinions, I supplied that proof, but you're just going to ignore it and carry on believing that lenders can see CRA scores? Honestly? Jeez.

If I'd been given proof to that degree of accuracy I'd apologise and say I was wrong. You've come here with a misinformed opinion, , constantly told others they are wrong, you've regularly demanded proof from posters to back up what they are saying as truth yet never done so yourself. And now you're going so skulk off muttiring about having your own opinion and moving on? Wow.

As I said; Grade A plum.

Sticks and stones. It's quite sad really when people have to resort to hurling insults.

You may have provided a quote from Experian but even their man James contradicts it by saying on here:

"Contrary to misleading comments by some posters, lenders DO obtain scores from the CRAs"

MSE say the same, perhaps you should tell them both they are wrong.

Now Tixy was right, this thread has gone on too long, so I will 'skulk' off if that is how you want to view it and leave you to keep believing whatever you want to believe.

Just the 'opinion' I have formed of you.

    Link to James' quote please.

You can't take what MSE have posted as gospel. I quoted Equifax and Experian that both say otherwise. What I, and clearly others in this thread, believe is the right information. Maybe YOU need to point out to James and MSE that they are spouting conflicting information.

Whatever. You're just embarrassed that, in no uncertain terms, you've been proved wrong, so now you'll just stop posting.
  • Last month my 'nominal' Noodle score had slipped to 4/5, however after putting £2500 on my creditcard (buying stuff for our new en suite, and will repay this from savings) which now is visable on my report, I now have a credit rating of 5/5

    Go figure......

Lenders get information from CRAs, not scores.

Most lenders will score you based on the information that they hold on you.

Last thing I'm saying about this, mentioned this in the past as an example, CRA's don't store your salary! Two people want a £10k loan and both have £10k of debt, both credit files are exactly the same in every way with 999 excellent score, one person earns £20k the other earns £100k. Do you think banks are going to use the credit score and lend to both so they both now have £20k debt? All lenders want to know is your credit history, salary and level of debt, each has their own lending criteria, Payday lenders for example aren't as picky.

Mine went from 3/5 to 4/5 after two new credit cards appeared on there . Looks like they approve of seeing you in debt!

We build scoring systems for many lenders but each one is built to the lender's criteria. These look at a range of data including your credit report. The score you get from us as a consumer just looks at your credit report so is not really comparable but is designed to give you an idea how your credit report shapes up in terms of how lenders might assess it.

Hope that helps clear up any confusion.
