Yes agreed, thats why I say that I am not taking this as evidence that they do look at your credit score, but I am taking it as information that leads me to believe that they do.

Because I've been told by someone from the 'inside', and because someone from Experian said it, and because MSE say it, and because CRA's imply it, I believe it could be true.

Neither of us know for sure and you believe they don't and I believe they do. Maybe one day there will be strong evidence to prove one of us right or wrong but in the meantime we will just have to agree to disagree.

I've posted direct links to CRA websites that clearly state lenders do not see the credit score you can pay them to give you.

There you go again, side-stepping the question and asking for everyone to provide proof, yet not doing so yourself.

    OK, I'll bite...

    Read this: https://equifaxuk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/257/~/tell-me-more-about-my-credit-score

"Each lender follows a different policy for credit assessments, and if you don't meet the criteria of one lender you can often still get credit from other organisations."

    "
Your Equifax Credit Scoreâ„¢. is an excellent guide to help you better understand your score."

    "
    6) Can a lender see my Equifax Credit Score™? Lenders will often use their own scoring systems based on their specific lending criteria."

    Read this: http://help.creditexpert.co.uk/help/CreditExpert_OOS/Credit_Score/prev_scores

"Lenders do not see your Experian Credit Score or your previous scores, this information is only accessible by you."

    "
Each lender takes different information into account when producing a credit score for an individual credit application and this is based upon their own internal lending policies. They may use different formulas to calculate credit scores and may even have different scores for different products. This means that nobody can tell you exactly how lenders score individual credit applications."

Now tell me that lenders can see the 'scores' given to you by the CRA's.

Well as I keep saying, it is my opinion and that opinion is based on several things that contradict what Experian says. I have provided that information many times.

So even when supplied with credible evidence you'll quite happily tell us we're all wrong?

    Just. Wow.

I'm not telling you you are wrong. I'm saying I have an opinion about it.

    This thread still going? Wow.

I wonder how many times people are going to state their opinion over and over (but not arguing of course)

Just thought I'd repost something seen here just now which contradicts what the "Experian insider" (and indeed Experian's own James Jones who posts on here) says.
6 months ago on Experian my rating was 'Poor' (on the cusp of 'Very Poor') but more recently I thought that an 'OK' rating was within reach as old repaid debts started to come off my file. I ended up on the phone to Experian in tears this week trying to understand why my credit rating has now within 1 month (and without any changes to my credit file) plummeted by 52 points and is almost back at Very poor again - in my mind erasing all my progress. When I spoke to Experian they told me it was because their scoring system had changed but that I shouldn't worry as it wasnt the same points score that lenders used.

You asked for posters to provide proof to back up their opinions, I supplied that proof, but you're just going to ignore it and carry on believing that lenders can see CRA scores? Honestly? Jeez.

If I'd been given proof to that degree of accuracy I'd apologise and say I was wrong. You've come here with a misinformed opinion, , constantly told others they are wrong, you've regularly demanded proof from posters to back up what they are saying as truth yet never done so yourself. And now you're going so skulk off muttiring about having your own opinion and moving on? Wow.

As I said; Grade A plum.
