    Thanks everyone!

    That crying penguin is hysterical!:rotfl:

It was my last home alone day today - we are both at home tomorrow as it's Mr Goldie's day off, then the last working day is Thursday.

It's an amazing feeling to be on the brink of freedom, so difficult to put into words

Goldie, this is wonderful! I'm really pleased for you, and I'm glad your pension is starting to pay out without a hitch. I was a bit concerned you weren't going to post the review, y'know :p but yes, the return from the cruise is more appropriate - I just can't wait to hear your plans :j:j:j

Getting excited at the cords - hmm, you're bound to be excited about the holibob, and they're a mindful purchase too - you bought them from a decision based on your analysis of your wardrobe. No mindless consumerism there - its a gold star, in fact :)

I'm not sure when your last working day is, I thought it was Thursday? I'll watch out for it ... sleep well, anyway :)

ETA - yes, your last day is Thursday, thats good. And the penguin is fantastic, isn't it!

I think this is the biggest thing to 'get my head around'. The thought of not working again is quite mind blowing! Part of me still thinks I'm going back to work at some point in January!
    :rotfl:

Put it this way, I have no plans to take up a paid job again, but who knows what will happen in the future.

We went out this morning to pick up the food that we'll feed to our soon to be ex-colleagues. We're currently cooking the samosas that Mr Goldie is taking to work. (fortunately, the food expectations of my colleagues are Pringles, small cakes and flapjack bites). The samosas smell amazing. At 0.20g of salt per samosa, I think I can treat myself to one:).

We've been getting clothes out for packing on Friday. It seems that packing for a weeks winter holiday takes up the about the same amount of space as a two week summer holiday, what with all the jumpers we are taking.

After dinner, I'll get my bits and pieces together for my last day.

Hopefully they'll let me go a bit early tomorrow, so by this time tomorrow I should be free:j
