    Hi Goldie,

I've got a completed 18,000 jigsaw that we done over the course of 3 years. It's still yet pencilled in for the floor of the entrance hallway in the big house - despite the big house plans going nowhere in the last couple of years!

This is the one we've done:

Those jigsaws are works of art.

I'd have to completely clear a room, to have to space to do one of those.

Glad you managed to get a long-term tee-shirt and some time in the garden Goldie!

Love the flowers, gorgeous colours ... it's so cheering to be able to look up from where you're sitting and still be able to see something pretty outside! Helps to bring outdoors in a bit! x

    Hi, Hbbb !

    Another very nice day here.

Mr Goldie was off work too, so we did some garden things. I was tidying shrubs and he mowed the lawn. Round the side of the house we have an overgrown area (out of sight, out of mind), so he made a start on clearing that too.

Really pleased with what's been done over the last couple of days, the garden is a lot tidier.

I've made some small sponge puddings for desserts on Sundays. I've frozen the mixture in individual ramekins, so they can be defrosted and baked as required.

I often do rolls and a loaf on a Wednesday to see us through the working days of Thursday and Friday. The rolls not immediately needed go in the freezer, and this time I'm going to freeze the loaf too. As homemade bread isn't stuffed with preservatives, it doesn't keep well in warmer weather.

Looking at the food we have in the freezer and cupboards, I think we'll be ok to last until we go on holiday in two weeks without a big shop. Just a few top up fresh items will be needed.

Had our first strawberry today - but as Mr G killed most of the plants in his attempts to protect them, we won't have many more. But it's trial and error - next year will be a bumper crop I hope.

I've joined TCB and £Co. Just need to find something to buy now.

Work tomorrow and Friday. I hope it's not too busy as I don't want to get too tired out, as we will be up early on Saturday, as we are going to do the Harry Potter Studios Tour :j

I'm loving the jigsaw discussion! I've got a bit of a reputation in our family for finishing all the jigsaws before anyone else gets a look in :o Mum used to buy the National Trust Christmas one for the family but now she just gives it to me. Not sure why but I seem to have a good visual memory :A

Call it a meadow flowers conservation area to help species who need protecting (bees, butterflies and birds etc), lots to be said for it! I was talking to an RSPB man yesterday who said that more gardeners should do this!

Yay :j Same here ... the weather's bringing them on in leaps and bounds ... yesterday we had our first two (just two ready) but with today's sunshine there are at least another half dozen ripe for the picking today that looked nowhere near yesterdat! Just not sure whether to indulge in them tonight or to wait and have a nice strawberry yoghurt smoothie for breakfast ... just worried about critters getting to them before we do!

I'm sure a few holiday necessities will be coming up shortly!

Hope work goes OK. You may see my son at Harry Potter ... he takes coach parties there sometimes and takes them about. His name's Ben, he's tall, hairy and huge fun! So if you meet someone called Ben, who doesn't stop talking, it might well be him!

Happy rest of the week to you Goldie!

I'll look out for Ben - I think a good guide can add a lot of enjoyment to a tour. Some of the best tours we've done were really made by the guide.

We're trying to clear a path to an area near the fence as there are blackberry bushes there, and we want to pick them this year. But we won't clear it in full, to much work, and it is rather nice to encourage the local wildlife and insects.

Janey, another jigsaw fan - they seem very popular. Sometimes I think that I'll just put a few pieces, and next thing I know, an hour has gone past

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

I was getting quite excited about the 24,000 piece puzzle until OH pointed out that we don't even have a room that size. It is as wide as our house
