    Fab on You Gov!
Take phone and car suitably wired up to the Kent Show - you are bound to encounter traffic on the A249 and can be reported! Its always bad there for the show!

    Hi Goldie

Just catching up with your adventures.

Fab news about the car and phone.

Canterbury sounds lovely, I haven't been there since I was a child and would love to go back sometime.

I trust you are keeping well.

Had a bit of excitement last night.

I did a You Gov survey, and it pushed me over the 5000 points.

    Therefore I've requested my £50:j

:T:T hopefully it shouldn't take long to come through, I got a note about mine saying they're paying in the next few days!

Happy new car and phone btw.. :Tohh and happy new hair too!

Hello everyone, thanks for dropping by.

We had a great day out at the Kent Show.

The weather was fabulous, and we were able to walk around and see everything that we wanted.

We had a Spitfire flying overhead, performing various manoeuvres. It gave just a hint of what was happening on a daily basis in the same skies 75 years ago.

Then we had a flypast from the Red Arrows, which was truly jaw dropping.

We also enjoyed seeing the livestock, the vintage vehicles, birds of prey and the dog and duck display.

We took a packed lunch, and spent £8. £3 on a programme which we didn't really need and £5 on ice creams, which were most welcome.

BBC Countryfile were filming - the programme will be shown on the 26th July, so I'll relive it all then

All in all, a great day out

As Watty said, it was a good opportunity to give the car and the phone a workout. The traffic was bad, and we were getting live traffic reports, so everything is functional.

The traffic on the A249 was rotten, there was an accident on the M2, and I'm sure Operation Stack didn't help.

In the end we went off piste along the narrow country lanes, which I wasn't too happy about in the new car!

But all is well, we are home and I now intend to put my feet up for the evening.

Sounds lovely - other than the traffic - am off to the Kent Show tomorrow. Have already downloaded the classes I want to see onto a piece of paper and a map of the showground so I can save on the programme.

It's good weather for it again, so I expect you are having a brilliant time. Hope the traffic is ok. I understand there's a concert at Leeds Castle today, so that's probably not going to help.

That makes my year seem quick!:rotfl:

A cheque for £24.16 arrived today, for the road tax refund for my old car.

It'll go into my bills account, which is now my Santander 123 account. I'll pay it in next week, it'll be the first time I've every actually been into a Santander branch

Brillant time at Kent Show - and traffic a dream - didn't watch the final class finish as I wanted to be sure to get home and a journey I allocated over an hour for took 20 mins. Fab!
Loved the show. Watched a pal and her daughter take 3rd place in the lead rein pony and chatted to a lovely lady of 75+ who is still looking after 20 horses and ponies. I hope I have as much energy as her in my 70s.

Glad you had a good day out, Watty. As we were dipping in and out of the activities, we only saw one equine event, which was a little show put on by the East Kent Pony Club.

    Very jealous about the traffic!:rotfl:

I went into Santander this morning to pay in my cheque, and I was served by someone I used to work with before we were all made redundant. The financial services industry is a small world

We haven't got much planned this week. Hopefully the weather will improve a bit so we can get out and about.

With not much planned, it should mean not much to spend either. At the start of the year I said it wouldn't matter if we spent more each month, from time to time, on the day to day living things than we bring in monthly. As it's turned out we have always been 'under', some months quite comfortably under. This month, we are closer to the wire. It wouldn't matter if we did go over for once, but my Mrs Micawber streak finds it pleasing not to spend more than we earn. By having a quiet week, we should be within our income level for this month
