Haven't read about hiving but in the MSE email it says that Sainsburys are doing double up on nectar points in two weeks in case you want to spend any:

That's a coincidence that Nectar gets a mention in the email.
Ironically, the promotion is when I'm on holiday, so I'll have to hold on to the points for the time being.
A nice walk achieved today.
Tomorrow and Friday we have the man round to cut back our shrubs and mend the fence post, so we probably won't be going too far from home.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Doubling sounds great, but there's nothing in those departments that I need to buy, sadly. I could *find* something, but thats not really the point

Your holibob is coming up fast!
Yes, 9 days and counting!
Normally, about three weeks before the holiday, I've got my packing list done. But now I've got more time, I'm more relaxed about it all. I'll probably do a packing list at the weekend, to make sure we can buy any bits and pieces that we may need to take away with us.
Today we had the chap round to cut back all the shrubs in the garden. He's done a very good job - it's very light out there now that the sun can get through.
He's back tomorrow, to mend the broken fence posts that we noticed a couple of weeks ago.
Although we are still active, it's nice to have a trusted 'man' who can do odd jobs for usEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Well, we are not having our fence mended today after all.
The man's son was ill and he had to collect him from school and look after him.
He's now rebooked for next Thursday.
Can't be helped ...... but I'd rather have got it done and dusted today. This chap is very good, but he does have a tendency to swap his days around a bit. We had originally planned for the works to be done on Wednesday and Friday this week, then he swopped it to Thursday and Friday. I seem to remember that last year there was also some swapping around too. I know we are home all the time now - but I still like to get stuff done as planned!
I've been having a rummage in the 'cupboard of doom' and have found about 30 pieces of nautical memorabilia that I will eBay in due course, so that'll be a big task. I can't imagine what possessed me to buy it in the first place!:rotfl:Early retired - 18th December 2014

That cupboard of doom must be largeMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Heavens! And that will free up a big space too. Memorabilia is a funny thing ... the only nautical stuff I've bought is one time down south I found a mariner's map of Liverpool Bay, with fathom contours and everything, the buoys located, the whole thing. It was about 50p!
Hope you have a good weekend !2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I am sure that it felt like a good idea at the time?0 -
That cupboard of doom must be large
It's a built in cupboard in a space over the garage, so it is on the large side! The cupboard hides a multitude of junk, including my packaging stash. Any box I get goes in there, just in case, for eBay. Boxes go in at a faster rate than they go out, so that's another job to do.Heavens! And that will free up a big space too. That map sounds like a steal
It'll free up a lot of space, hopefully not for more boxes:oedinburgher wrote: »I am sure that it felt like a good idea at the time?
At the time I bought this stuff, I actually did get some things that I have on display, and other things that I use, such as mugs. But this stuff that'll be eBayed is of neither use nor ornament. But it seemed like a really good idea to buy at the time!:rotfl: I can only imagine that I thought it'd be an investment for the future.
Did my packing list for my holiday today:jEarly retired - 18th December 2014
