    Morning all

CharlieY - read some of the post above yours re tvs - not sure an aerial would work but I'm definitely not techie.

Some of you have done a brilliant job of flying this week - well done. Inspired by you I am going to see what I can get done off my list in the next couple of hours.

  • Hi all - I'm with you Dusty -lots have done a brill job of flying this week whereas I "f word" miserably!:rotfl: DH is determined to go in the garden today so I'll be flying. Starting with bedrooms.

Quick shower then double HHC - and see how long it takes me to catch up.

Financial stuff is mega atm and I never know when it will hit so will need to be flexible with my flying for a while.

Hugs to all needing them. Have a good weekend.x

Ha just rang the bank to question some random letter they had sent be, turned out I complained for 13 minutes so they are sending me a tenner compensation. DH reckons if he had to pay me everytime I complained to him he'd be bankrupt.

Off to the shower now, flying yet to commence.

We all went out to Lyme Regis for the day, was wonderful (if a wee bit pricey for lunch.. note to self.. picnic next time!)

*jelus* I used to live very near there and haven't been back for years. Love the place.

Sorry Skint, I don't know anything about pink handbags either. If the problem is that it's niffy, a quick douse with bicarb and vacuum it up would work, but if the problem is marks, have you got a spare rug you can put down over them? I didn't have time to wash the carpets over at the chalet, either, so I know how you feel but please remember that your guests are coming to see you and your gorgeous skids, not grade your housework skills. If they're good people they'll be happy if you're welcoming and the kettle's hot. Well, I would be, anyway.

Fabby OH made himself an omelette and zazzed the leftover leeks in cheese sauce, I defrosted some ham and we both ate leftovers last night, so all is well in the Honey Bear House today after a great night's sleep.

I have to get this place looking great next as the Dog/Cat/House Sitter is staying overnight next week while we visit Brittany and she'll be using our bedroom. The pet shop in the market has supplied us with a bag of cat litter that doesn't need 'doing' as Said Sitter is v. heavily preggers and I don't want her anywhere near the litter tray in that condition.

Lamwolf, how's the waistcoast coming along?
    Better is good enough.
  • Hi all double HHC finished.
Stripped beds and washer and td on as we speak. Dressing gown also in line for a freshen up!
Hoovered all bedrooms and did the landing again
    Hoovered dining room
    Done majority of ironing
Sorted contents of inside of car - never gets cleared out so thinks it's its birthday. DH cleaned car and put a new handle on a door.
Meals sorted for next two days.

Going to declutter a coffee then need a couple of things from shops and may go to garden centre!

Rest of flying will now be done tomorrow as well as cleaning all outdoor furniture as it is supposed to be sunny - not sunny today - miserable and cloudy!

Catch up tomorrow - have a great day

I am looking ahead to two weeks of FREEDOM and today's FROG will be to compile the list of things I wish to achieve over the next fortnight.

On a side note I have just withdrawn my filthy lucre from the online betting. My £10 stake has turned into just over £53 and I still have £7.50 to come back on Quidco! Just to clear the account I have wildly flung my last remaining half of my Freebet (£5) on a runner at Newbury this afternoon. E/W

I'm thinking of knocking up a veggie chilli

    HELP

Currys are offering a p/x for an old vacuum of between £75 - £100 off a Dyson. Anybody got any opinions on them please?

Hi all, just caught up skimming thread so appropriate spoons/hugs/congrats to all the things you've been going through. And welcome to newbies.
Highlights/excuses for being awol for a couple of weeks? In no particular order:
    - had record number of hours work offered at Uni in March, so looking forward to pay packet. I'd been somewhat dreading Easter financially with less income, but as i've also had a couple of assessments as well as all the uni I'm really happy. Can't believe it was this time last year I handed in notice from permanent job to opt for freelance. I've got another assessment to do next week, and have just got another OU student to work with. Busy busy busy.

Last Sun OH and I had a total spring clean of the conservatory, was really ruthless chucking out manky old cushions and throws which were the worse for indoor/outdoor life being attacked by food/plants/bird pooh etc. OH re-varnished the windowsill and we shifted all plants which would cope onto the patio for the summer. I moved lots of "stuff" which were lurking en route to the greenhouse or shed. Felt really pleased. One of the main reasons for doing it was that a friend was coming round for lunch on Wed, and I'd planned it for the conservatory. Of course imminent visitor meant blitz of lounge, hall and kitchen too.

I'm gradually catching up on the worst of the weeding although our garden is pretty big so it's a Forth Bridge job. Have also sown lots of veggie seeds.

OH has taken a week off next week, so we plan lots of garden and house catchup projects interspersed with a few nice outings/enjoying the time off together. I'm hoping to find the perfect garden seat to go down by the pond, have got some vouchers leftover from my work leaving pressie.

Aren't there lots of us with birthdays this week ? Sorry can't remember, was it Honeybear? and one of the Mumsof? Pigpen? No sorry my brain has failed. Anyway I hope you all have happy birthdays. I'm being taken out tomorrow, don't know where but we have to be at the station for 8.30. I commented that London would be busy (wondering if we were going to watch the marathon) and OH said yes, he hadn't realised. His mum is coming too so it can't be too strenuous. Oh yes, and I've got to take a snack in case we can't find any suitable food for me. And comfortable rather than smart clothes. The mind boggles.

For those still seeking new vacuum cleaners, I'm really pleased with the VAX C87-VC-B I got in the January sales. Very light to drag or carry, and very strong suction......

Must go and hang out washing now then wander up the village to get a paper and post a letter. More sun and very impressed with our meter readings since the solar panels, although we haven't had any bills yet so watch this space.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Made DH speak to the man at sky so that I could cancel it. I've been trying for a while but it's in his name so needed him to give permission. He didn't have any excuse this time as we need the money. He's still devastated! Need to sort an ariel before they cut it off on the 12th.

It is my understanding that you own the sky box and dish and whilst you can't get the paid for channels without subscription you can get free sat through the Sky box. So that's a lot of channels. So you shouldn't need a new Ariel.
