Why not? It's my van I can do as I wish

For one, your insurer might see if differently. Some insurers don't allow sign-writing, and might see this as an alteration which invalidates your insurance, especially since it names a particular brand.

Second, with a specific brand upon your vehicle, it's likely to suggest to thieves and low-lifes that you're carrying the branded goods - making your vehicle more likely to be robbed. Just look at the plumbers' or electricians' vans with a notice on the back door - "No tools left in this van overnight". Many years ago, I was in a semi-pro rock band, and the vocalist wanted to advertise the band on the side of the van. The rest of us disagreed, as we didn't want our gear stolen.

Third, I wouldn't dream of branding my car unless I was being paid by the brand, or I was the brand and I were promoting my own business.

lots of people have large surf brand stickers or printed on their vans.

    it is very common.

Insurance is aware you have to tell them you have any type of decal on any car/van.
Infact it took my insurance down.

I understand your view but you look at most VW transporters 9 out of 10 we all have decals of some sort on them.

    It's just a " scene " thing.

When we bought our new house off plan and we were going through the deeds with the solicitor we wrote back to developers solicitor and told them which conditions we wanted to change, ie we wanted to be allowed to have a caravan parked, we would not accept some things and they allowed it. And I think some other residents must have negotiated too as they have caravans so can you not try that?

Yes I'm going to fight it :)
As I'm not selling my two vans just because of the stupid rule

Has it occured to you that some of the other residents may have bought there because they wanted to live on an estate free from vans and dishes?
