Got a confirmation e-mail this morning saying someone will be in touch soon once they check out the problem.

Well what more could I ask for at least they have acknowledged my query.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I just needed to vent my anger somewhere on Thursday.

And I was one of the first people in the shop when it opened as like your local stores things on offer tend to go very quickly.

My local store have had the chickens in stock for weeks.

    Prove it!

This is just classic cynic, know-it -all (but haven't clue) guess work!

    1) Original Poster - Lidl
    2) Buellguy - Aldi
    3) Lincroft1710 - Lidl

They are three posters which talk about either Aldi or Lidl not having any stock.

    Over to you.

Sigh, fine, I'll play you game

    OP - Lidl
Does anyone else hate it when a store advertises on the TV and in store booklets that they are getting stock of something on a particular day and when that days come they don't get any in.

    Buellguy - Aldi
Yep, happened to me at Aldi with the leg of Serrano ham advertised before Xmas, none in on the day

    Cattie - Lidl
In my local Lidl you have to be up early with the birds to get the chocolate chickens otherwise when you go in, they have all sold out

    lincroft1710
Agree with cattie, Lidl can very quickly sell out of items and sometimes stores don't get any of the bargain offers or only a limited number

Not sure I quite get why people are sticking up for them - sure had this been about Tesco/Asda etc you'd been quicker to jump on them.

Hardly a game, I thought this was a discussion.

Anyway, my original comment still stands. Cattie cant be included because she said:

So the store had the items in, however sold out - which is not unusual with some of the deals Aldi/Lidl have. We were talking about shops not getting the item in at all.

FYI - My response would be the same whichever supermarket we are talking about.

Here is the reply I got.
It happens often and another scam they have is having similar items to the promoted items next to them, of course these are much more expensive so when the offer items have gone people pick up the expensive one and do not notice the price difference till they get home if ever.
    Dear *********, Re: Lidl Promotions
Thank you for your interest in one of our promotional items. As a discount store we receive a limited amount of our promotional offers, from time to time this amount does not meet the customer demand.
We do internal checks to try and ensure availability of our offers. Please accept our apologies for the disappointment caused and be assured that we have passed your feedback onto our Buying Department. We are hopeful that our future promotions are able to fulfil our customers' demands.
Many of our offers tend to repeat and there are several ways in which you can keep up to date with the excellent range of products that we will be selling. You can check our in-store leaflets, national newspapers and on our website (https://www.lidl.co.uk). You can also register on our website for our free weekly email newsletter.
We hope you source the product you are looking for in the near future.

Yours sincerely, For and on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH Allan Carty Customer Service

Thats hardly a scam, just clever positioning. Its not the fault of Lidl if people are unwilling to read.

If you dont like the way Lidl operates, why not take your custom elsewhere.

Deliberately using misleading signs is just "clever positioning".

    Of course....

Where did the OP mention "misleading signs"?

All supermarkets place similar items next to each other.

Item doesn't arrive therefore it's a scam, yeah right!
