Yes, but that doesn't give retailers free-reign to list any promotion they want, as they can fall foul of bait & switch laws if they knew full well they couldn't fullfill the promise.

Only part 5 of that seems relevant. However if Lidl have 300 stores yet only send stock to 200 - I cant see how that can be classed as baiting if they state in the terms "selected stores only".0 -

I wasnt trying to imply they have broken any rules. Merely pointing out that adding such a disclaimer to the advertisement does not give companies a get out of jail free card... They must still comply with the legislation
Edited to add...
Judging by the number if people on this post alone commenting on the availability of promotions, there certainly seems to be cause for concern that they're not sticking to their obligations.0 -

They are three posters which talk about either Aldi or Lidl not having any stock.
Over to you.0 -
When you browse the Lidl site for the first time (or after cookies have been cleared) it asks you to choose your local store so it can show you which offers are available at that store.
If you don't select a store and browse then you run the risk that the product might not be supplied and then if it is supplied it is subject to availability/shelf clearers....The man without a signature.0 -
Thank you everyone for your comments. I just needed to vent my anger somewhere on Thursday.
And I was one of the first people in the shop when it opened as like your local stores things on offer tend to go very quickly.0 -

Prove it!
This is just classic cynic, know-it -all (but haven't clue) guess work!0 -
No didn't get a confirmation e-mail saying anything as yet. So hopefully they will get back to me soon.
The staff in store where fed up also with the booklets and adverts saying thing will be in store from a certain date and nothing turning up. They get asked hundred's of time a day for the products.
Think they should just record their reply - "sorry they didn't come in", then "I know it is very frustrating", then "is there anything else I can help you with".
Not really sure what else they can say. I was the manager of a newsagents for several years and on a regular basis you would order from the supplier but only receive say 90% of the order. It wasn't our fault and we had to say what the staff said to you. It's someone else's fault.0
