Does anyone else hate it when a store advertises on the TV and in store booklets that they are getting stock of something on a particular day and when that days come they don't get any in.
I have done this on many occasions and I am fed up with it.
Today I went to my local Lidl to purchase the chocolate chicken on the nest for my little niece and nephew this has been advertised for weeks now and should have been in stock today as per their own shop booklet. I went there as the shop opened as I know sometimes these special things go very quickly but the store assistant said they did not get any in and wasn't sure if they ever would. I pointed out that they have advertised for today's date and he said can't help me.
I came home and e-mailed Lidl to vent my anger and I have not yet 8 hours later had an answer from them, so Im guessing customer service is not right up there with satisfaction.

Yep, happened to me at Aldi with the leg of Serrano ham advertised before Xmas, none in on the day, spoke to manager, none delivered to store and they weren't getting any.
He called head office in front of me to be told that they hadn't received the complete order from the supplier and there was nowt they could do.
Can't argue with the service I got from the manager, one of those things, ah well0 -
Did they say someone would get back in touch within 8 hours? Most places say 48, or even 5 working days!0

Yep, not got a problem with that, had a good response from the manager of the store, he was very helpful (he'd had several other people comment to him that a lot of the stuff promised for Xmas wasn't on sale, he'd chased all of it up and complained to head office about the large number of very disgruntled customers). Not his fault, had a good natter with him, still shop there0 -
No didn't get a confirmation e-mail saying anything as yet. So hopefully they will get back to me soon.
The staff in store where fed up also with the booklets and adverts saying thing will be in store from a certain date and nothing turning up. They get asked hundred's of time a day for the products.
Think they should just record their reply - "sorry they didn't come in", then "I know it is very frustrating", then "is there anything else I can help you with".0 -
ALDI and LIDL have fallen far from their normal "Harrods-like" standardsI am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0

Yes, but that doesn't give retailers free-reign to list any promotion they want, as they can fall foul of bait & switch laws if they knew full well they couldn't fullfill the promise.

In my local Lidl you have to be up early with the birds to get the chocolate chickens otherwise when you go in, they have all sold out. My store has had stocks coming in, but are whipped off of the shelf pretty quickly by customers.
This often happens when they have a special weekend offer too. Whenever there are Lincolnshire/Cumberland sausages offered on a half price weekend, unless you're there as soon as store opens on a Saturday you're out of luck. Sometimes they don't have any because they didn't get a delivery. Not sure why it has to always be sausages that fail to be delivered!
Lidl's customer service is actually quite good in my experience, but you do have to give them time to respond to you.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Agree with cattie, Lidl can very quickly sell out of items and sometimes stores don't get any of the bargain offers or only a limited numberIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
