you just have to me and lots of other ppl here on the board, I for one take your comments on board and suggest you are better of buying face to face from a shop.
Thank you for you custom please do not come again, cause if you came across on the phone as you did in your post I'm not surprised you found staff not too over friendly it also seems you think they are all rude.
In what way did gingernights come across as rude? He/she came across as angry, and was venting that anger on the, er, Vent Board. That does not mean she lost her cool with the people she dealt with on the phone and you are in no place to make such an assumption.
I agree that one is better off buying in a shop though.0 -
Well been on the phone to them re: the really bad delay in processing my order... there's been a glitch and they will process my order now... Pfff relief !
Well... when I get it that's me done with play.com though ! Never again !0 -
Lol -- well actually they've now declined my card. Don't think it's due to the bank as there is money in my account... They asked me to check my card details (why did one payment go through but not the one for the rest of the order?) but there's a big CANCEL button in red... so I clicked, and clicked, and clicked, and now feel really relieved... Will go to town tomorrow, and will get stuff from the shops.
By the way... maybe I was lucky, the bloke on the phone was quite helpful !0 -
"How is royal mails and parcelforces delivery timescales Play.com's fault?"
It is up to them to select a courier that has a good track record and to make sure that items are delivered. I cannot belive people are sticking up for them they have been nothing but pains in the past year to various people and their new ticket service is giving touts a platform to sell tickets on compleatly unregulated. Personally i think they have grown to big as a buisness and cannot cope with the demand and their customer service staff are a joke.0 -
Those who have had problems with play need to consider the size of their company. With any company that huge you are going to get a grumpy member of staff or two on the phones and mistakes will happen. Only once has an item I ordered from play not arrived, I hit the not arrived button and a few days later received a replacement. On one other occasion the wrong item was sent, I called them and was asked to send back, putting the postage receipt in the package before I sealed it so they could refund this. That I did and again, a few days later I received the correct item. These two mistakes have come within years (probably a few hundred) of orders by me, I think that is a pretty good record. I would say, if you get a rude member of staff on the phone, ask for their name and politely ask to speak to someone different.
Those of you that say you don't get problems with amazon. I have ordered far less items with amazon than play and had far more mistakes/lost items with amazon. On all occasions they have always just issued a refund/sent item again though.0 -
I ordered a Wii Jog in July 2008 against a quoted delivery date of 31st October 2008. Without advising me the delivery date has been slipped to March 2009. An e-mail would have been appreciated. When you phone the helpline it either 1) cuts you off after a few rings or 2) gives you a recorded message saying the line is busy and then cuts you off.
I can appreciate that maybe they are having some supply issues, but if you are in the game of massively overselling an item then you need to mitigate with some form of customer service - anything would be better than nothing at all.0 -
with regards to JerryCornelius and your Wii jOG. when you ordered it it would have said due for release October. The actual release date of the product in this country has now changed to March. There is nothing play can do about that.0

I am equally annoyed with The Hut. I ordered Spanish Coach for a DS Lite
a package arrived today from them containing My French Coach:mad: I now have to send it back, and only then will they mail out the correct one! probably too late for Christmas. When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0 -
I will not be using Play.com again, I had a total nightmare, see link below and they're hard to get hold of. After 4 weeks of problems, I used Amazon and received the correct item in 4 days and was sent status emails.
