Play.com poor service!

  • Actually I rated them too, specially the prices, but then I've never had a problem with anything I bought from them - till now. I know it's not their fault, but I would have hoped in the interest of good customer service they would have sent it back to the manufacturer for me - got any ideas how to get them to do that?
  • Well I don't rate them much. Okay they give you lower prices, free shipping etc, but really how long do you have to wait to get your order?
    Ordered 5 items on 14th of November, 4 from play.com, 1 from tradeplay.
    Tradeplay item despatched next day, received a day later. Excellent. Left glorious feedback for seller.
    However... play.com order is still processing. Items were all in stock ready to despatch in 24 hours, payment details were no problems, no need for security check or anything... still, no communication.
    So I don't know if it's a bug from their system, or they are just too lazy to bother. There's no way you can contact anyone apart from by phone (just can't stand the thing, and how much is it going to cost - from previous posts they don't really know themselves what's going on).
    Tonight I thought I would just cancel (you can still cancel if your order hasn't been processed)... but they forgot to mention how to do that on their help page... how convenient?
    Do I have to hope that I will get my stuff by Christmas?
    Should I just delete my card details and not bother?
    Any advice please would be nice. Thanks

  • I'd never order from play.com again
    i ordered 5 books for my mum for mothers day when i contacted customer service when the item failed to arrive within 2 wks i was told by their rude customer service staff that i had to wait up to 21 days!!!:mad:
    i asked why cant they track my order if it has been sent and they said they couldn't tell me, so i couldn't get a answer if my books had even bn sent out or were out of stock the man on the phone didn't have a clue!

    well missed mothers day so got my mum something else but she really wanted these books, i was still hopefull they would turn up !

    21 days no books! so was bk on the phone to them spoke to a rude lady
    who said item should have been delived said she would give me a call back 2morrow when she spoke to her manager.

    no call came:rolleyes: waited all day

    phoned again man said there had been a mix up and they had re sent the 5 books out yesterday was angry because by now i wanted a refund
    should have gone to amazon! or the bloody shop.

    but he refused a refund as he said the books were sent out yesterday.
    i asked what had happened to the last package and he said he didn't know.

    didn't want to wait another 21 days lol
    :eek: 10 days later package cames
    open it up to find 5 books i hadn't ordered :mad:

    was back on the fone to them they told me those were the books i'd ordered
    they wern't woman made me out to be thick! was asked to send them bk at my cost this was when i slammed the fone down

    i will never deal with these people again.

    I have had an item refunded on Play.com due to non delivery but they have refunded less than what I paid for it.

    Does anyone have a Phone Number for Play.com, I keep trying the number on the Web-Site and it is constantly Out of Service.

    Your help would be appreciated

    Sorry I can't find the number as my old digital phone bills have all been deleted by my supplier:mad: !!
    I emailed them at [EMAIL="customercare@play.com"]customercare@play.com[/EMAIL] when I had a problem last year and got help there, but I did try ringing the 0845 number on their website today and it did ring so you could try that again, it is a busy time of year for them so you might have to try a few times to get through.
    I apologise as I thought I might have been more help:o .

  • I've had nowt but good service from play.com and most of the time they're the cheapest and no postage! luv it.

    I would have agreed with you until my recent problems. To add insult to injury, thay have rounded down the refund of my return postage costs to the nearest whole pound. :mad:

    What text speak, Dave? gingernights shortened 'back' to 'bk', not typical of the rest of his/her text. I don't call you thick even though you have no debating skills and say 'innit' a lot, do I? And in any case, he/she was talking to them on the phone, so his/her text is irrelevant to that.

    Also, how do you know he/she wasn't polite on the phone? Some people are capable of remaining polite and calm even when they are furious. In any case, you have a few issues with politeness yourself, so you're hardly one to talk.

    you just have to me and lots of other ppl here on the board, I for one take your comments on board and suggest you are better of buying face to face from a shop.

    Thank you for you custom please do not come again, cause if you came across on the phone as you did in your post I'm not surprised you found staff not too over friendly it also seems you think they are all rude.
