    I make it 100 on my calulator :rolleyes: how peculiar ! Thank you anyway, have had a go fingers crossed ! must be my lucky day - I have already won a holiday today (from CLC no less!!!!) and found out I have an abcess in my tooth !!!!!!

    In mathematics, multiplication & division comes before addition or subtraction unless there are brackets stating otherwise. So the sum:-

    What is 8 + 3 - 4 x 2 + 1 - 5 x 10?

    becomes

    What is 8 + 3 - 8 + 1 - 50?

    = - 46
