Don't be stupid. That's far too sensible. A lot of people have trouble deciding what they are going to have for dinner tonight - to ask someone to plan their finances more than a payday in advance is lunacy! :rotfl:0 -
Surely you must have factored in the possible rise of future rates when you took out your variable rate or base rate tracker mortgage?
This is exactly what we did - when we fixed at 5.39% we knew we could afford the rate to be about 15% after the 3 year fix so at least we're safe for a while. But although we can more than afford a rate increase, it doesn't mean I like it one bit.
The people who took out fixed rate mortgages with no consideration of future increases who now find themselves really really struggling will get no sympathy from me.0 -

+0.25%Next time I will get it to end at 12 noon!
People are probably voting 0.25% to make it look like they got it right! lol
That's why I posted the summary at top of page 3 of this thread, so if the stats changed because Patrick, Lisa, Bongo Mongo whatever he/she/it wants to call himself/herself/itself we would at least have some record.
I thought 80% voting for a rise spoke volumes, you don't normally get that many to agree on anything!
Bets on for what the vote was? Another poll?! lol.I can take no responsibility for the use of any free comments given, any actions taken are the sole decision of the individual in question after consideration of my free comments.
That also means I cannot share in any profits from any decisions made!;)0 -
