Payment A Day Chapter 15

Thanks Ermie for your words about not giving up.....this is so slow going for me, and I sometimes feel is it worth putting away such tiny ammounts every day.
But, as you said, it's the giving up thats wrong, not the little blips, or how long it takes.
We have a limited income, with a business that is hopefully growing, so things should improve over time, and I now make sure I have money put aside for everything such as car expenses, presents, etc, (lots of little brown envelopes!!) which is why I have so little left to PAD, but hopefully this means no dipping into more debt.
Been getting a bit down lately about having no spare cash, but hey, onwards and upwards! We all get like that, I wish I had a big chunk to throw off my debt every so often but I don't, what I do is set myself smaller target ie the next £500 or the next % or getting the figure under the next thousand. It takes time but padding helps I've cleared just short of 1/3 of mine in just over a year. I know it's all relative to what each individual owes but I would never in a million years done that without padding. Keep on going you will get there :T:T
I experienced ( a few times) before padding on my Debt free journey the condemnation for blips and 'going down' even though I had no intention of staying down. Really it didn't help me. It made me feel worse and zapped my hope
I also experienced stagnation with Debt busting. This could go on for weeks/months and the stalling feeling was horrid. So when I 'woke up' from this I would just look online or elsewhere and 'find something else' I was on various threads on here in my Debt busting journey at various times. I also tried a DMP (which I didn't need) and Dave Ramsey. Dave I started well on then stalled. DMP - well the bank ended up hassling me like they'd never done before though I did get a new account with a different bank so I wasn't using the overdraft (going round in circles) for everyday monies. That was really helpful.
There were other things like the e-cig which I'd order most of the stuff for online and in bulk so I used to say 'why waste £10-50 on stinkies when I have 3 months of e-cig stuff in the kitchen' - so that helped. Of course e-cigs have changed loads in the last 3-4 years so if I'd started on them now I may not have found them so debt freeing but still. - and yes we can debate the rights and wrongs of e-cigs but not on this thread
Now I have a massive £50 housekeeping budget a week which covers food and eating out and 'little treats'. Little treats are fine. Some folk need them to get them through the week
Really guys that are feeling down with debt busting and lost their mo jo on it - rest assured it will come back and you will get there. If I can do it - anyone can! It all starts with a moment - a lightbulb moment

Thanks for the support guys....this thread is so good!
It is really tough going sometimes. I find it so tough as I was always good with money, and got into this mess due to a property investment that crashed and burned!
A crystal ball would be great, but sadly lifes not like that, and now we're paying the consequences of trying to invest for a better future....instead, at the mo its looking like a pretty bleak one!
BUT, we're both healthy, and thats more important...there's always someone worse off, but just occasionally I do feel abit sorry for myself
So 50p today....onwards and upwards!A Payment A Day keeps the debts at bay
