we usually go in march, during the day we were glad of the breeze, but it was cooler on a night.last year we went in august with family, it was very hot day and night
we actually got put up in the vik san antonio overnight, our flight was delayed 28 hours!
san antonio is slightly closer to the town than clubhotel paraiso, but the paraiso in my opinion is a more modern hotel.
either way on the stroll into puerto del carmen there are bars en route

a lovely little hotel we tried out last year, was hotel luar, praira da rocha portugal, with lovely ocean views,,ok it was not all inc, but b &b, which left us free to wander about each day and try out different places to eat and drink...the beaches there are lovely, and the weather was hot(june 13), so should be nice in july...and i think it would come to around £700 for the 2 of you around the 10th or 11th...
Corduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.

There seems to be a few good deals in Majorca and the Algarve. Pretty much anywhere in Europe is guaranteed sunshine at that time of year, or as guaranteed as you will get anyway.

The Calas de Mallorca Resort is a cheerful enough 3* All Inclusive and is showing up at about £450 each, and the Sol Mirlos Tordos in Palma Nova is decent enough for your budget and should be about £480 each.

In comparison you can pick up a decent enough Half Board for around £300 each in Majorca and then have £150 each to buy lunch and drinks out and about in resort allowing you to try different places if you wished.

Look online at companies like On the Beach, Travel Republic, Low Cost Holidays. Or the cheapest flights are the 10th from Gatwick with Norweigan Air so book direct and then book your hotel with one of these sites.

unless anything changed since i was last in palma nova the Sol Mirlos Tordos is a flinstone themed hotel, a good choice if u have kiddies with you.
i have stayed at http://www.thomascook.com/destinations/spain/balearic-islands/majorca/palma-nova/hi-palma-nova-palace it was adults only, had a good holiday there but not sure i would highly recommend it. it served its purpose for us (we had our sons with us that wanted to party in magaluf) whilst we were walking distance to magaluf we were also far enough away for a quieter area in Palma Nova

OP, if you still haven't found anything suitable, have you considered going for a radically different style of holiday?

We've never done all inclusive before so this is what we wanted to do.

Define what is a radically different style of holiday?

Fair enough. It was just an idea.

Anything other than a standard package I guess. I was thinking about ideas such as activity or adventure holidays, camping, road trips, etc.

San Miguel Beach Club, Puerto San Miguel Ibiza with Thomsons. Seven nights from 12/7/14 @ £506 per person. Nice flight times. Cheaper previous day but flights not so good.

The problem here is simple. You simply do not have enough money to get a holiday that meets your expectations. £500pp isnt really that much for decent AI.
Take off flight costs of say £200 each, transfers £25 each. and you are left with only £275pp for the hotel. And you want high quality fed and watered included. Thats only £40 per day.
We pay upwards of £70 a night for self catering in July and thats normally only mid range accom.

Try Sunmaster.co.uk its a holiday builder website where you choose your flights then add accomodation and transfers on top.

    How about this?

I found a flight from Gatwick on 10th July, 7 nights from Gatwick at the Bahia Del Sol Hotel in Santa Ponsa Majorca AI for £911
