What are the best april fools joke you have seen or done?

The diet water one. I saw it on GMTV and interviewed a family who since the installation of a special tap (a water filter tap) and the lady only drank water from that tap, she lost loads of weight.

We all need that diet water tap!

Last year I received a birthday card on april fools day which completely threw me as my birthday is in June..I was so confused.:(

My uncle Ron later admitted that he had sent it as an April Fools joke.

On Capital Radio in the early 90s Chris Tarrant did the breakfast show on weekdays. This particular year 1 April was on a Saturday and Tarrant came on saying it was Friday 31 March. It fooled a load of people who panicked and started getting ready for work and school! I've never seen anything to beat that.

When I worked in Speke and St Helens, near Liverpool I played the same joke several times. I left a phone message for various people to call back Mr Lion who was absolutely going wild. 0151 430 9009 was the number I left. They took it very well, must get hundreds of calls like it. They just said he can't come to the phone right now its feeding time. Knowsley Safari Park also have a sense of humour. We got the extremely miserable dour Scots manager at Chester to ring 01244 380280 and ask for Mr C Lion as well. He just hung up when he realised and didn't even crack a smile. I don't know if Chester Zoo had a sense of humour but I suspect they do.

I have played a few in my time... I remember setting the clocks back 30 mins so the whole house was late that day...

I also took a screen shot of the laptop and used it as the back ground picture and then removed all the icons off of it so when you tried to click on the icon from the background picture it would not work..

My favourite one was when the landlady of my local pub wanted to start doing food from their kitchen. She had spent a solid two weeks in getting the kitchen prepared with all stainless steel equipment and also a lot of effort in getting the decor in order and ensuring that it would be ready to go and be fit for purpose. Well it was all completed and on April 1st I decided with the help of a few friends to get a guy to dress up as a Environmental Health inspector and he had all the correct paperwork ect and he went to look over the kitchen on a so called official visit. He stated to take the landlady to task by pulling her up on what she had done and after 1 hour of doing this he condemned the kitchen... she was totally exasperated by this and when she came into the bar quite clearly upset we then let her in on the prank.,..
