Even a midwife or a gynecologist couldn't diagnose you accurately as pregnant or not over the internet! Everyone's got the same 50:50 chance of guessing correctly.

But it isn't a 50:50 chance (please tell me you don't bet!). A random woman of childbearing age has a bit over a 1 in 20 probability of being pregnant at any given moment.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,

Not 50:50 chance of being pregnant! 50:50 chance of guessing whether some random stranger on the internet is pg or not.

Well. It's a good thing I wasn't asking anyone to guess if I was pregnant or not then isn't it ;)

Do you want to be pregnant? I sometimes think the desire to be pregnant can make women think they are having symptoms when it's not the case (not meant to be nasty but your more likely to look for symptoms).

It's entirely possible you could be pregnant as you did not take the pill again following your break. (In theory an egg can be released in this time and as you say sperm can live inside you for 7 days).

In order to have pregnancy symptoms your body must have started to produce the pregnancy hormone. So within 7 days you'd have to have realeased an egg, this became fertilised, it made its way back to the womb to implant (which I believe takes almost a week) and then the hormone be released enough to cause symptoms. Not likely you'd know this early if you were!

Honestly I think it's unlikely your test will be positive right now alright it's not impossible! When I fell pregnant a test one week after my period would have been due still came back negative. (Based on my dates i must have conceived close to the date my period was due though).

The first symptoms I got were shooting pains in my boobs and I tested a couple of days later. I then got a positive test but my period was due on 18th and I found out I was preg on 31st January last year. What I'm saying there is save a test for a couple weeks after your period (should it not arrive).

Good luck. . Whatever the outcome your hoping for x

I wasn't actively Wanting to be pregnant. However it wouldn't be the end of the world if I was. It didn't cross my mind until I started getting the symptoms. I don't want to get my hopes up that I am because it seems very unlikely. However. Either outcome would be equally good and bad for me. If that makes sense?

The chances you are pregnant are very low. If your symptoms were due to being pregnant there would be enough hormones in your urine to pick it up. Your symptoms are more likely to be due to stopping the pill.

The random stranger is drawn from the population of people who may or may not be pregnant. The probability that she is pregnant is increased by the question being seriously asked (because if there was no chance she wouldn't be asking) but decreased because she is so unlikely to be in late pregnancy and asking the question.

I think you too are confusing two options, yes and no, with two equal options.

I fell pregnant in the circumstances you describe. However I started the next pill pack 3 days late.

I had negative tests for 3 weeks before a positive one. So don't rule it out.
