I live in a small (very) town in a rural area, we have a teeny B**ts, a chemist that doesn't sell make up or skin care, and a rather nice indy chemist who sells Clarins and Lancome, I have to force myself not to go in as the Lancome things are so lovely, but a) I have masses to use up first and b) I really want to convert to non-animal tested products eventually, they offer a good discount at times too, which makes it even harder:(

Maddie, I've seen a few bloggers use Muji containers in the drawers for their cosmetics etc.

Nooooooo! I wanna seem 'em too! :D

Maybe just a little thread for "enabling posts" called The Naughty Step thread?! :o

I see lots on the Grabbit board but don't always look but when I spot a beauty related item I do try and post here, ie the rimmel mascara one today.

    Thanks for the heads up:D

I have been a little naughty and ordered both mascaras, a sleek eye palette and a cleanser, the cleanser will be part of a gift to a friend though.

My Helmer arrived today, 6 days earlier than advised, need to get OH to put it together for me (I got in a terrible muddle with the first one - although I have made up other kit stuff:()

Not tried any Sleek before, have you?
I ordered 2 MUA lip glosses, a dry shampoo and some bath salts to pump it over £10. :o

Does anyone have any ideas where I can get a nice glass container to store the bath salts in please? Nothing modern, more an old looking container. Thanks.

Can I just ask, what do people think of S&G Lid Stuff? It's on 3 for 2 in boots, I love the naked palettes but with so much eyeshadow already, I can't justify the cost.....

I have the nude one and it is nice but not fantastic, the lightest colour is a bit chalky. I prefer the MUA palettes tbh.

I find it hard to believe that such big brands like Lancôme tests on animals but I think 'certified cruelty free' ones have to ensure that EVERYTHING is cruelty free whereas Lancôme etc may not be able to guarantee it that the ingredients ate cruelty free, though the end porduct may be and hopefully is at least. I don't want to start a discussion off though, at least not in this thread as it's a very emotive subject.

No, not tried Sleek, but have read some good reviews.

As I have got older I have lost confidence wearing eye shadow, so have bought some palettes to experiment with, I let my hair go grey and I love it (it looks as if I have highlights of two shades of mid/darker grey on a silvery base), always getting asked where I get it coloured:D then I had some bright pink highlights added which have almost faded out now. The reason for the wittering is that I need to find new colours that suit fair skin, hazel eyes and grey hair with cool colouring, plus the fact that I have decided not to grow old gracefully and wear a lot more colour in my clothes now I don't have to wear office wear.

Agree, don't want to sidetrack this thread, but the problem is that the new "rules" apply only to NEW ingredients/products. A lot of the brands I love don't test, but the ingredients have been. I will use all that I have (a lot) and then when I need to replace try and seek out better choices for me.

    - Shampoo and conditioner tester Garnier ultimate Blends (New one)- Very nice my hair feels really soft, but one I tested was for dry hair and mines more on the greasy scale so probably wont buy again

I bought a bottle of this shampoo today from Boots as it was on offer. I'm really not liking the Naked one that we're using at the moment. Don't like the smell of it and it doesn't make my hair feel clean.

Also picked up a can of Batiste as the one that Emma took away with her was very light.

Another UU from my PP list today too: -

Marc Jacobs Honey shower gel. This was lovely. As with the body lotion I would buy this again but not the fragrance itself.

Am just repainting my finger nails and will be swapping to OPI Casino Royale. Have just looked at QVC website and my TSV has been shipped already. May hang around for a while on Saturday morning to see if it arrives. Otherwise, looks like a trip to the Trafford Centre with Emma to find prom shoes as those I collected from Debenhams today don't fit. They are lovely though so am hoping I can get them for her in a better fit.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
