Morning! What a gorgeous day, or at least from that I can see round the curtains. OH has gone to work for a few hours so I've retired to bed with the laptop and a cup of tea, thought I'd come and catch up with you all.
I have a few UUs to declare:
L'occitane 20% shea butter hand cream 10ml - this wasn't a UU but a GA as I have two in the stash, a friend who needed it more, and a need to atone for what comes later
L'Oreal brow artist eyebrow pencil, blonde 2g I have another in the stash but WDBA, great value, £1 cheaper than the no7 pencil I used to use and comes with the wax pencil end as well. I don't use the wax all that much but the pencil is a better colour and cheaper with more of it.
Body shop lip and cheek stain rose pink - this was amazing! I have had it for years. It's far cheaper than the Benetint (which I will confess I have never used) and infinitely more portable. Perfect colour for me and has lasted yonks. I've used every last bit that the sponge could reach, and it's almost completely empty. WDBA once I've used up the bronze pink version and bright pink (also BS) blush I have left to use.
Champneys spa treatments hand and nail cream 40ml This has been on my desk for a while and is currently cut open and about to be thrown. Came as part of a kit Christmas 2012 (or possibly 2011...). Fine but nothing special and I wouldn't pay for it separately and would prefer L'occ any day.
Champneys distant shores body butter 50ml This came as part of a kit Christmas 2013, wanted to try this scent and the lime. Love the smell but it irritates the skin on my legs. I've had this previously with BS grapefruit body butter, so I think I need to avoid grapefruit products n future. Weirdly, grapefruit essential oil doesn't seem to irritate me in the same way.
IN (deep breath)
L'Occitane divine cream 1ml x 7
This was a freebie, did anyone else get the email from L'occ? I've picked these up even though I already had 5 sachets and, I think, a 10ml pot from a Christmas 2013 present. I'm currently using the eucerin even brighter day and night creams (free last summer, not that impressed) and avene eau thermale (and HG) , but I couldn't turn down this freebie as I had it on the email and was walking past the shop, and LOVE divine cream (despite never having paid for it...). The amount of GWPs I have with l'occ is insane, but I love that they give these things away without a purchase and the ladies in the shop always take their time with you. The SA showed me the best way to apply it, which I hadn't known before, and told me I'd been using too much previously. Once the eucerin is used up I plan on repurposing the 20ml pot to fill with divine cream sachets.
I'm off to catch up with the last 15 pages of thread that I've missed, hope everyone is well. one last thing, has anyone here ever heard of or bought an anxiety bracelet? I've been asked to put some together using the semi precious stones I have in my bead stash. Using SP stones is something I'm still learning about but anyone else's experiences would be gratefully received!0 -
No, not tried Sleek, but have read some good reviews.
As I have got older I have lost confidence wearing eye shadow, so have bought some palettes to experiment with, I let my hair go grey and I love it (it looks as if I have highlights of two shades of mid/darker grey on a silvery base), always getting asked where I get it coloured:D then I had some bright pink highlights added which have almost faded out now. The reason for the wittering is that I need to find new colours that suit fair skin, hazel eyes and grey hair with cool colouring, plus the fact that I have decided not to grow old gracefully and wear a lot more colour in my clothes now I don't have to wear office wear.
Maddiemay - check out Lisa Eldridge on Youtube, she does a fantastic makeup tutorial on an older lady with grey hair and gives lots of tips and advice. She says that eye makeup is more important than ever as you get older. The woman looks amazing at the end of it and it is all very simple.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I ordered 2 MUA lip glosses, a dry shampoo and some bath salts to pump it over £10.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can get a nice glass container to store the bath salts in please? Nothing modern, more an old looking container. Thanks.
Sainsburys have got some lovely vintage looking bottles in their bathroom range you could funnel bath salts into. I've also seen some glass bottles in Home Bargains which were more shabby chic than vintage IMO. Other than that TK Maxx are always good for something out of the ordinary. HTH
Elemis TSV has arrived v promptly on Weds, not going to declare it officially until I decide exactly what I'm keeping and what's going on eBay. The cleansing balm and tan accelerator are definitely going, I'm just deliberating over the night cream ATM.
Had a few additional IN the last couple of days:
Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer shampoo, I'm a sucker for new products, part of the reason I'm here!!! The different packaging, quite old school, intrigued me, it smells divine and was on offer half price in Wilkos, as it is in Boots too. They didn't have the large conditioner or I'd have got that as well! Might pick some up in Boots later as I do like to try both together. I need to tighten my belt now as OT at work reduces and I'm hoping I can replace everpure with this, time will tell.
Wilko Bath Fizzer Star Jasmine and White Patchouli, reduced to 50p would've been rude not to!!
Radox Sleep Easy Bubble Bath - Was all out of bubbles and most bath products, £1 in Wilkos so guilt free
Also, for those of you who as I do hoard cleaning products too, I bought Cillit Bang Limescale version, not cheap but brilliant stuff! Brought the waterfall taps up gleaming with no elbow grease required!! They were really started to dull too where water sat in them. Very pleased with this, will just use for specific jobs to make it as MSE as poss

Morning ladies. Just been catching up on the thread.
I really want to try the Bourjois matte lipstick things now as a few people have said they are really good....3 for 2 in Boots at the moment, think I may cave! I can't seem to find all the shades anywhere though, on beauty blogs I saw that there was a nude shade, number 7 (can't remember the name of it), not seen in any shops though.
What colours do you have, ladies that have purchased0 -
I have 04, Peach Club and 02, Frambourjoise. I love them both soooooo much!No more goo hoarding!

Am@zon have offered me yet another beauty gizmo. Deep breath. A Philips Lumea Essential SC1991/00 IPL Hair Removal System.
Someone really likes me... after using the last one I got sent, which had an RRP of £300+, the hair has crept back and it's difficult to see much difference now. This one has two very good reviews.
I will be trying it out ASAP as I'll need to give it as much time to work as possible before reviewing.
I could have had a £100 Panasonic hairdryer as well, but that would have been greedy. I love my Braun hairdryer that I was given to review.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... really wish i was on the amazon review thingy
i've made over 100 reviews in the last 6 months and never had a sniff, oh well....i'll keep trying, enjoy your new toy, it sounds fab x

Hello All, hope you're enjoying the sunshine.
I've a UU to report: 5ml. REN Hydra-calm Cleansing Milk. This was effective and pleasant to use, and didn't leave my skin tight, but is so expensive MNBA.
And 2 TAs:
JudithWilliams Luxury Diamond eye cream, 15 ml. I almost finished it, but had no more patience with it as it didn't seem to make any difference to the fine wrinkles under my eyes, so I thought I'd just chuck the little bit left. WNBA.
Laura Geller Eye Spackle. I've had this some time, and I think it's drying out as it tends to flake now. WNBA
Happy Easter all!

Dolly - thank you so much for that info, I will try and find it, I opened a No7 GWP palette this morning and used the light colour under brows and two shades of the mauvey colour, looks quite good, but need to learn how to shape and shade. Some of the colours are a bit shimmery, but I think looks OK, don't want anything too matte though as I often look tired:(
My dear OH has risked life and amputation of fingers and assembled my Helmer, all I need now is time on my own to play at re-arranging them both, prefer if he does not see all my stuff:o:rotfl:
It is bright and sunny here, but such a cold wind, need to see if I can find a sheltered spot in the garden to do some weeding, I absolutely loathe being blown about by the wind, my hair is not long enough to tie up, might need to jam a hat on to stop if getting in my face:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. I have been wearing greys and mauvey colours which look good, but want to try blues and greens. Gold and copper used to not suit me when I was brunette, but I am really looking to experimenting. I think that I ought to buy some new brushes too for eye make-up, Real Techniques seem to get good reviews and are not very costly.
I bought Emma some RT brushes for her birthday and she loves them.
I did comment here recently on the Smashbox one that I have which is lovely though looking on the Boots website these are considerably dearer than RT. Wonder whether they are part of the 3for2 instore at the moment though?nillionaire wrote: »Hope you get on well with it ! My hair has felt really silky all day
Thanks, won't get to try this until middle of next week as I've been to the hairdressers this am for my colour and cut. Feel human again.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
