I tend to count calories. At the moment I'm aiming for 1200 - 1500 a day. I put on 3 1/2 stone in 6 mths. I've lost 10lb in 3 months. Mostly I bulk meals out with veg (they are minimal calories so even if they are a few calories I count them as 0). I think just being aware of how many calories are in things makes you think more.

    Breakfast 200
    Lunch 250
    Dinner 350

+ 400 (milk in tea, snacks, fruit, extra pots at dinner etc)

I'm veggie (eat a little fish if it doesn't taste like fish!). It's looking at your carbohydrate portions. So where as with potatoes rice and pasta. I used to guess a portion. I now measure.

So I can still have nice stuff! So quorn chilli, shepherd's pie, lasagne, curry. Bulk out with veg such as peppers peas mushrooms carrots. Also beans good still have calories but bulk out with less than meat and filling.

I do myself a Quorn escalope (209), sausages or something and OH has chicken breast or pork loin or similar. 100g potatoes each (100g = 100kcal) + free veg carrots cabbage peas etc.

Also I portion meals out quickly so I'm not tempted to have seconds! and freeze.

Rare we have pudding. Currently we have a HM banana and date loaf with a cup of tea (250kcal)

I also have a treat maybe once a week. Pub meal or takeaway. Not in the first few weeks though!

    What do you normally like?
Thankyou, my downfall is deffo snacks tbh and I don't like eating breakfast either. Hubby and kids are fussy so I need to do me different things that are easy ish too. My new routine after the school hols of working at lunchtime will hopefully help as I'll be a little more active.

I want to make my daughters birthday cake for next saturday. I have bought a picture topper that sticks on with icing so have borrowed a bigger cake tin from my friend. It's a 9 inch one with a loose bottom....how much mixture do I put in and how deep? Want it thick enough I can slice into 2 and put jam and butter cream icing in middle

I would tend to make two separate halves then put them together but this may be a bit difficult if your cake is a funny shape IYKWIM.

Today I have no specific plans as we were going to go shopping for birthday presents but I've now done that online.

First thing is a bath, then dog walking. Chicken is already cooking for a roast later. Certainly won't be gardening today as the weather is not good again.

    Have a great day everyone.

I took another nine litres out of the dehumidifier at the chalet yesterday, so that's now somewhere around the 20 litre mark over the past three weeks. All the cleaning gear needed to spring clean it is now over there except the carpet washer because it's just not hot enough to get them competely dry yet which is a pity but can't be helped. The bits of wall where the condensation had turned moudly have been bleached and more bleach trickled down the bad bits of the shower grouting so I can get stuck in the cream cleaner.

The great chalet spring clean will now occur on Tuesday morning with OH helping for the first time. I can hear it now - 'But why do you want to put the beds outside, can't we just clean around them?' 'But why do you want to paint those bits of wall, we're only going to put stuff in front of them? But why do I have to move furniture to clean behind it? No one will see behind there.' etc etc.

Mrs Dog's postponed groomng session is on Tuesday afternoon on the other side of the city, so if the tide's out we can start the day with a run on the beach and her prediliction for sitting down in sea water puddles won't matter. She's definitely got a lot of spaniel in her - she absolutely loves splashing around in water and is pretty thick (to be truly honest) so very un-collie like. But she's so sweet natured I still can't believe how lovely she is.
    Better is good enough.

    Morning all

Feeling much better today and much more in the mood for getting the place clean and tidy this month.

    All the bins emptied
    DS2's bed stripped
WM1 done and on the line, watching carefully for rain
    WM2 in progress
Kitchen tidied and washing up done
    Compost caddy emptied

Just going to do a bit of of paperwork and then give DS1's room a wipe over, he is supposed to be tidying and stripping his bed, wonder how much progress has been made.

Need to get some 'work' work done.

Again though I feel utterly unmotivated to do this, despite what I am facing this week.

I presume that as I feel somewhat undervalued and unappreciated this is why that is having such a negative impact on me.

And, in turn, this is making me angry/blue because it's not like me to feel so down; I feel it's been done 'to me' rather than is of my own doing.

hugs valli they certainly like to take the pee at that place :(

I'm just savouring the peace and quiet. Littlies have gone to inlaws until Tuesday. I'm a bit _party_ and a bit  at the same time. They even put toys away before they left.

I've cleared out the dining room cupboard and now have a pile of craft stuff that needs sorting into the drawers in the conservatory. There's probably a lot of recycling ;)

I've emptied the DW and apart from 1 spot the kitchen is fairly tidy. I have some flinging to do, but want to check bin dates first - there is some gibble in the garage that needs to exit.

I also want to pop up to town at about 3 (might be able to park!) as I want a few bits and bobs from H0me B@rgains and W!lkins0ns. New dustpan and brush, and I will keep a look out for a small doormat (DS has asked for one :D)

But for now I'm just sitting and just being :o while my ears stop ringing :rotfl:

LW, how are the Princesses doing?
They're fine, thank you.:o I thought I was going to have trouble taking them out for walks; they have extender leads, with plastic handles, and yesterday, having only held Patsy (Mr LW had Pandy) my left wrist was in screaming agony. Not because she pulls, just because of the shape of the handle. Anyways, I have a solution.:T Mr LW has a webbing belt that was free with a pair of jeans, and that he doesn't use. It's big enough to go over my coat; so I tried this morning putting it on and threading the handles of the extender leads on it before fastening - it worked a treat; I was able to walk both dogs without hurting my wrists.:T:T:T The only reason Mr LW didn't come with us this morning, btw, was that I sent him off to the monthly Farmers Market for supplies.;)

Anyways, it's about time for another walk, then, I think, we'll get their grooming kit out and have a go at their coats.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
