You will need the Google play app to download your apps again and get any new ones. It's the app market place........Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Yes, I realised that after. Have another go tomorrow. I'm thinking along the lines of a factory reset. Is that easy to do? Maybe someone will explain the route. Can anything go wrong? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Reinstalling Google's Play store will be a bit of a problem. Are you sure you completely uninstalled it?
As far as resetting goes, usually for Android
You hold the power button and -volume button together for about 5 seconds.
Then you let go of the power button and keep the -volume button still held until the android creature loads and gives you some options.
Choose factory/data reset using volume keys.
It's usually a straight forward process.
Make sure it's got plenty of charge in it before starting.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I hadn't completely removed it and I have the link back on home screen.

Well that seems easy enough. We're going out soon, but when I get back, I will use the tablet again for 5/10 mins and see if or how many times the message pops up. Then I will ensure it is fully charged and embark on the reset. Last night it I used the tablet in bed, and the message popped up so I know it hasn't gone, but, it only came up once. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Factory reset returns to out of the box state so backup contacts and data first .0

No mention of backing up data in this thread .
You may lose any saved data in apps or notes etc .
Non Google Play apps will be lost .
Emails videos music pictures anything not saved on the ext sd card may be lost .
A lot depends upon how the factory reset is implemented on each product and also the Android version as to what exactly gets wiped .0 -
Sorry, you are correct, I only absorbed the contacts bit for some reason. Luckily he isn't too far down the line with it and doesn't seem to have much to save, but as you say he should check and save as necessary. No mention of backing up data in this thread .

Being a belt & braces chap, I'd sooner be told twice. Once ive tended to something, its showtime.
Hiccup I think. I try holding both power & vol but the tablet starts loading. Did this about six times. One one occassion it did work and the android appeared giving me the options, but went to boot (I think it was). Am trying again. unsure if the five seconds is an exact thing though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
