Just had confirmation that all 20 items from my order have been cancelled ... what a complete and utter waste of time! I'm sure everyone here knows how long it can take to put together an order for everything you want, especially during the early hours of a sale when the site is running slow etc. If M&S choose not to run a proper ordering system where it's possible to allocate stock at time or order then I choose not to buy from them anymore. Putting a value to your own time and putting up with all the aggro doesn't make buying from Sale at M&S a good deal.

I placed 3 orders and one has been despatched but not arrived. The other order I have had cancelled with c 30 items in it. I do not understand how everything can be out of stock. I rang and complained and they have given me a credit for £20 but the time and effort I spent making the order is not really compensated. The final order I am still waiting with bated breathe as to whether it will be available. The trick one person said about small orders may be the way forward but even then I am not convinced on this performance that the items will be in stock next time.

As one of the people who suggested this trick, it didn't work. All my orders were cancelled.

I'm pretty upset with M & S website, as its only since they developed this new website that all the hassle started IMHO

ordered lots of items on the 19th

order scheduled for latest delivery yesterday

so phoned up to find out where they were

first i was told delivery next tuesday latest (i complained about this)

so spoke to manager who told me all items out of stock and you wont be getting them ever

system error apparently it happens all the time - can't guarentee anything in there sales - something to bear in mind when there next sale is on

what i'm annoyed about is the fact that they took my money and then were not going to do anything about it untill i phoned and asked where my items were - my question to marks is if i didn't phone up how long were you going to keep my money for??????

The previous site used to collapse under pressure, and I was told (after an order went hopelessly wrong) that they were using the designer of the Amazon set-up to organise the new site.

It's incredible not to have built in the facility allowing items to show as out of stock before you order and pay for them.

jsut phoned to see where my order is, only one thing in stock, told them to cancel it, said its disgraceful that ppl can order when its already out of stock - she has credited the account with £10 as compensation.

I had one order delivered today out of my 3. Of course this was my smallest order.. One has been cancelled completely and based on what I am hearing I think my last order will be as well. I have received compensation of £20 credit so far on my next order but I will hold out for gift vouchers as someone on another thread managed to get these.
