So to summarise:
Open a Lloyds or a TSB account. Failing that, a 123.
Remember to set up your DDs; SOs are a good alternative if you're struggling.
FD offers some great rates; don't confuse this with Nationwide's FD account). And be aware that ISAs will turn into NISAs in a few months.
Complete your R85 forms (if applicable), otherwise it's all about AER/gross/net rates.
Above all, don't forget about FSCS.

Was hoping to get to more, but with not knowing where I was going I had to follow my Dad out of Kirkcaldy and he wasn't keen on going on a T's tour for some reason, spoilsport:rotfl:
Did manage a couple of Belvita shops in Perth though so wasn't a complete wasted journey!

Surely in order to get the interest, the money needs to be in the account? Not just transferred in then transferred out immediately?
Ii've had the same account for the last 25 years, think its about time for a change! And beginning to build up some savings so any advise greatfully received.
Thank god, someone thinks like me.
I think they have the max amount to get the higher interest rate already in the account, and just put in and then take out the amount to keep the account going.:p:p

Hi Karlie
Can I pick your brains - We've got up and running 6 x Vantage, 6 X Enhance and 4 x Plus. I'm looking at 2 X Club - problem is the 4 DD's. I was thinking 2 of the Tesco savers. Can you suggest another 2 quick / easy ones? Thanks.
Set up two different Tesco Internet saving accounts (available online, instant saver, Internet saver if I recall), there's two sorted.
