Moneysaving insomnia!! Does anyone else get this? Browsing the forums after all the talk of bank accounts etc.
I've been with Lloyds since I was 10!! Is that ridiculous? Feel I've been missing some tricks. So many forums and ideas for money saving.
I'm looking at:
sealed pot challenge
Bank accounts and cashback
Matched betting (not got time for this but interesting)
Debt free wannabe
PPI
Coupons
Was wondering, what are the best ways to save/make money that people have found? I really want to make a better life for my family money wise and I am getting to grips with the grocery shopping now :T but any advice or discussion would be great!!0 -

I usually read a few other forums. I do the sealed pot challenge (even though not registered).
I have one pot for £1 and £2 coins and another for bits and bobs. I am not really a cash person as I think harder about spending on my card but my bits and bobs pot is over half ful:eek: Because I so rarely use cash I try to put all coins in.
I estimate around £7 a week some more some less.
I also like the forum where they save either to buy a considered item or to pay off a debt. Piece of paper divided into 100 squares. Amount needed divided into 100.
so item costing £299 would be 100 x £2.99. Then quite often they use other decluttering challenges to sell unwanted bits to raise target.
I avidly follow the competition thread as love comping.
All the banking talk is very clever but I simply do not have cash assets needed to play this game yet.
I have sold alot on fb this week which has been great as all things stored in attic and garage. I now have 8 boxes of first edition books to try to sell on amazon.
Promised mum I would clear and catigories art room while she is away but thing I need to get rid of the debris of my life hanging around and I will then have a clearer head.
Many of us do not have the spare income to open lots of accounts although I do think first direct iss the one to start with.
For now I will stick with my sealed boxes and second purse (which I use when I buy glitches from my stash) this helps generate cash for ready to buy more glitches.
I was told when I joined here it would take me two years to get together an adequate stash and money freed up ready for next glitch. This is definately right and I am 19 months in now. I am hitting the 3v cards bigtime and try to divert all my spending into them for the cc points then into the vouchers for the shops I want to purchase from.
This is a long haul life time project which gets easier over time.
I am up as grumpy dgd has chicken pox and grumpy dd keeps updating me via text. Surely make sense for one of us to get some sleep.

Morning all
It's not raining! Even better, there is blue sky :j
It is a bit breezy though and that breeze is chilly
I'm enjoying reading all the bank account posts and I'd like to have a go but I don't have the kind of money that you're all talking aboutI could probably play with £500 rather than the 1-2k that I keep seeing popping out at me :rotfl:
