Surely it would be better to wait until you get to work before going to the toilet. That way your are being paid to do it.
Nothing quite like being paid to take dump :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I'd say it's just going through the motions now.0

Without descending into crudity, there does seem to be a large number of people who do wait until they are being paid to go to the toilet, I hadn't thought of the water meter angle though, as I don't have one.
However, I'm not prepared to sit down in our toilets (unless it is a real emergency) :shocked:I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I also had this happen in a mondeo.
Was in the red so put £20 at tesco and when I got in the car it was still in red. I went in and asked if the pumps faulty and was assured they've had no other complaints.
Within the next 10 minutes the gauge gradually got higher and higher and eventually registered it.
So I also wonder if your car gauge is dodgy.0 -

This is because their VAT bill can be based on the indicated amount dispensed from the pumps and if more fuel than the indicated quantity is going out this means that the garage would be paying less VAT then they should be.
A small error would only result in the loss of a few pennies, but over the course of a year, this would soon add up.
What a load of rubbish!!!
Based on this logic companies could be prosecuted for wasting materials through ineffeciencies or giving freebies with purchases etc because 'they could sell them instead and costing the treasury'.
Or they could be prosecuted for under cutting competitors on price blah blah blah.0 -
petrol stations are run by ethinic minorities frankly because the native population cannot be arsed to do isolating shift work with little social contact. You're ususally working with just 1 other person - sometimes even alone. You have to be prepared to work 24 hours. Have little work/life balance. No colleages to hang with at 6pm on Friday afternoon at the pub.
People's hidden racism comes through when they have a bad experience at a petrol station (run predominantly by Asians) and then conclude that they must've got ripped off because the clerk was asian. Forgetting that the hundreds of other positive expeirences they had were also with asians.0 -

Goods given away will be taken into account in the books, and yes, if a company does "lose" a large quantity of goods through inefficiencies, this should be picked up during an audit.
Maybe you think HMRC are also talking a load of rubbish when they refer to pump readings being taken as one way to account for VAT and daily takings for the garage concerned.
Subject to the implications above on fuel cards, the use of daily meter readings to record the DGT for petrol supplies is allowable at local discretion.
Officers should be satisfied that the method will result in an accurate valuation of retail sales (remember that sales to other VAT-registered businesses, other than occasional cash sales, must be dealt with outside the retail scheme) and will be done at least daily. The retailer must use the full tax-inclusive retail selling price for each grade of fuel. But if a discount is given for bulk sales, the DGT calculation must be adjusted accordingly.
Alternatively, storage tank dipstick readings may be used to assess opening and closing stock in each tax period; or meter readings may be used to calculate delivered quantities on a quarterly basis, provided you are satisfied that this will give an accurate result.

Pump reading can and are used to calculate the daily takings for some fuel stations, and from this, their VAT liability and daily takings are calculated.0 -
I hope children are not involved!0
