I will personally take the challenge of Joining Boots Health Insurance in Sep.... with my Brother as well - just to prove that it could be done...

I have planned out everything to detail... Having though that purchasing something from ebay would have helped, only to be find out its part of the 150 exercise category points...
I guess know if one of us gets a Flu jab that will enable us just over the 3000 points to reach the target in and that is all by December!

Here is the plan I got in store: 2 People...
    1. Boots Health Check
    400 Points

    2. Boots Eyes Exam
    50 Points

    3. Complete non-smoker Declaration OR Stop Smoking Declaration
    300 Points

    4. Creating Healthy Meal
    100 Points

    5. Fitness Assessment (Free at Gym even if you don’t join.)
    600 Points

    6. Complete Personal Health Review OR Vitality Review
    100 Points

    7. Complete Stress Management
    100 Points

    8. Read Self Help Articles
180 Points (60 each month for 2 people)

    9. Log in Online at Start of Policy
    100 Points

    10. Points for joining Boots Health Club
60 Points for 2 people (No Limit on Family)

    11. Join GYM (£25 join fee + £25 each month for 3 months.)
    900 Points

    TOTAL VITALITY POINTS::: 2890 :rotfl:

    12. Include Flu jab
    100 Points (If Both 200 Points) TOTAL POINTS = 2990 (3090)
    :j

Any ideas welcome... ALL CHALLENGER ALSO WELCOME...:D
For those of you wishing you had joined sooner here is your chance...

I'm hoping this is a no-brainer; I'm currently paying £87 for my gym membership at Esporta, which ends October 1st.
It is worth me still going down the Pruhealth route (via Quidco), if the cheapest cover would cost me £41.55? I'd be planning on joining my local Virgin Active in Farnborough, Hants..

Any helpw ould be very much appreciated

Alas, no, it's monthly. This was a discounted single member price (down from £96). This is the Royal Rackets club is Bracknell, so it's one of the most expensive in that group. I joined because I found an excellent personal trainer who worked out of that gym, although they were charging him £1000 a month for the privilege :eek:

Does anyone know the Virgin Active prices for Farnborough?

  • Amusing mistake in the FAQ section about Cannons. Pay close attention to the last sentence:

"What if I need to visit the gym but not to do a class or workout? We monitor possible fraud and reserve the right within our membership terms and conditions to change your gym fees accordingly should you act fraudulently. Only visits to the gym where you haven’t taken part in exercise will be counted for usage at the gym."

So if you ever get caught doing a "popping in to use the loo" or a "having a nice sit down with a cup of tea" gym visit then you can quote the last sentence! It's the poor sods who are working out that are abusing the system! :)

That Esporta gym charge all the personal trainers around £1K per month, just for the privilege of using their facilities.
    C'mon you Canaries!!
  • How much do personal trainers charge their clients on average?
I would like to get a personal trainer, but the £40-50 per hour quote I got from Cannons is a hard pill to swallow. Not sure if it's the going rate in London to be expected in all those big chains.
