    This information is up to date as I did it this week (the website didn't work then either though and I had to activate my gym membership over the phone with pru). I went to Virgin Active on Oxford Street and told them that I was with Pruhealth and wanted to join the gym. They gave me some forms to fill in and then I had to call (the gym let me use their phone) to activate it. The gym needed a reference number from Pruhealth and they gave me my membership card there and then. I could have gone to the gym that day if I wanted.

    The monthly direct debit goes to Pruhealth to pay for the gym and they take the activation fee (I paid by credit card) straight away.
  • HELP!
    I've been seriously considering joining the Pruhealth scheme, with the idea that I'll get a fitbug straight away and get my points to gold or platinum before I activate the gym membership with Virgin, so I have some queries that I can't find the answer to on the website

    1) Does a fitbug work with a mac

    2) Do you have to pay for a basic health screen?

    3) When you have your first fitness assessment, can you get additional points (as well as the 300) for your BMI level/blood pressure/fitness level?

    I'm trying to be as realistic as possible with regards to the fitbug and the amount of money I'd pay at Sainsburys for fruit and veg

    So here's my calculations for the first month, presuming I'd do 2 walks of 10000+ a week (or 1 12500+) and spend £16 at Sainsburys a week (from Mysupermarket)

    MONTH ONE
    LOGIN= 50pts
    NONSMOKER=150pts
    MEAL PLAN=50pts
    SAINSBURYS=32pts
    FITNESS ASSESSMENT=300pts
    PERSONAL HEALTH REVIEW=100pts
    READING ARTICLES=30pts
    STRESS ZONE=50pts
    FITBUG=40pts
    ==================
    TOTAL= 802pts

    If a Basic health screen is free, I'd get that too (200pts) and obviously I don't know if I'd get more points from the additional checks listed above
    Any other things I've missed please let me know asap as I'm hovering over the Pruhealth site as I write! :)

    At six months I'll do the other twice yearly tests so I should reach platinum at month 6 (not including basic health screen)..as I'm pretty sure it won't be free! (then I'll join the gym!)

    DON’T DELAY IF YOU WANT STILL WANT CHEAP GYM MEMBERSHIP!!!
    If you’re keen in joining a GYM then Pruhealth it’s still the BEST option. Even better through Boots Health Insurance I reckon (Boots Health Insurance is still Pruhealth insurance – same premium prices – Free Health Screen & Eye test with Boots).

    Today I would like to share with all those considering in joining NOW! NOW! WOW! (My date is 1st September)

    I DEVISED A SIMPLE CLEAR PLAN FOR ALL NEWBIES INCLUDING MYSELF.

    @punkypickle

    1) NO it does not, has to be a PC
    2) As far as I know, yes
    3) No, you only get additional points for improving BMI/BP/fitness in the 2nd test and the ones after that
  • How do you set up a Fitness Assessment? The new site is so difficult to navigate.

    I can't get a handle on the new site and I have gone from popping in every couple of days to not having checked it out in a week. So that says it all really.
