woo hoo just called took just over 3 mins told them that my car insurance was up end of august (LIE) could i get a quote and they said it was too far away but if i give my club card number they would put the points on which will show in about 2 weeks.

I just phoned the 0845 number, and after a very long, very stern recorded warning, got through to an operator straight away, told her I was buying a car later this month so the offer has really come at the right time for me. She said I couldn't have a quote, but I could have the points for phoning!

I've just called up on the 0113 number and told them my insurance wasn't due until March 08, but if I got a cheaper quote I would switch. He asked if I was ringing mainly because of the clubcard points offer........I said yes to which he replied "I will add your points anyway - I can't give you a quote as it's not within 30 days"..............what a great result :T

rang up for a quote, which i will need for 1st week in Aug anyway.
the guy said have the points without the quote!!
I said i need it nayway for the end of the month.

Result! Just phoned Tesco insurance and got straight through, mentioned the points offer and was asked if I actually wanted the quote as the points could be added without it. Wanted my name, postcode and clubcard number, did not even ask when my insurance is due.

Save your telephone costs by calling them on one of their many 0800 FREEphone numbers. I did and was transferred instantly.

I was told the points would be credited to my Clubcard. (They need the exact name that is the title on your Clubcard account). :T

The quote I received was VERY high, so don't forget to shop around using links that Martin provides. :j

I just got straight through on the 0845 number. I mentioned the 500 points offer and a very nice chap told me I could have the points without a quote! He didn't even ask when my insurance was due. He took my name, postcode and clubcard number and said the points will be in the November statement.

Note to people who are not successful - just ring back and speak to someone else, they have obviously been given permission to offer the points without a quote.

wey hey 3 mins 29 secs on the phone, after listening to the bumph and being on hold and i was told id have to ring back for a quote nearer the time but get the points anyway!!!!!!!!!!!! worth a phone call, thanks OP and Martin~!
