Glad your work finally agreed to your working from home. Can't believe it had to come to all of that though.
I write in my diary to post on here and that helps me remember! X

So glad HR stuck up for you and you're now at home with the kids, but I think companies show their true colours when things like this happen. And it makes employees question their loyalty and commitment when they're treated so despicably in their time of need.

How have things being going the last couple of weeks? I can't even begin to imagine how long the waiting list is for driving tests... hope you can get sorted with a cancellation sooner rather than later.

Thanks everyone, I totally agree Homegrown, my brother works in public sector also, but a different part, and OH works in public sector but a different part, and they both got sent home in march and have been working from home ever since, my brother said they have no plans to go back till New Year, and OH has heard whispers of after christmas as well, it does make me wonder why I care so much about my job, having worked there for 22 years and was treated terribly

I have my laptop up and running now, this week just gone was my first week off on term time, but me being me I couldnt stop myself doing some extra shifts lol and I just finished a full weekend as well, so I have 28 extra hours to go on my August wage, I need to log on tomorrow to put my form in to make sure it gets to payroll on time
I am going to work 2 days this week as well.

Now I am a home worker, I have  a new EO and HEO, which is fine, we all know each other anyway, I really get on with the HEO, he's not my HEO when in the office, but he does work in my room, when I was off sick, he was the only one to get in contact with me when he found out I was off with stress and he was so understanding, he is on leave till the 17th, once he is back I am going to ask him if I can stay home.  Everyone who was sent home in March who are on the vulnerable list (not the sheilding list) are all staying home, there is no actual date for their return, but in the office they've had to stop us using over 50% of the desks as we wouldnt be 2 meters apart (they are still sticking to the 2m, I am shocked I thought they would jump at the chance to squish us back together) included in that are wives/husbands of people who were shielding, they got sent home to work from home to lessen the risk of their sheilding partner catching anything through them, so in my head I am the same as them, I am working frm home cos of my children, so wondering if I can stay home (as I think I am even more porductive here) until all those guys have to go back

There is a weekly dial in with the big big bosses and they are saying they are going to be trying to get more staff working from home, so I am hoping that is a positive step for my request lol
I just think it would be better if they let everyone who was already up and running at home to stay home, the kids school have already said if anyone in the class has symptoms then the whole class has to be off for 2 weeks, I can see them being in and out of school like yo yos, so I would need to be home for them if that happened.

I can't believe we are a third of the way through august nearly!!!

I hope everyone is ok xx

It's the case at all schools so I suspect so many people will be in and out of work because of a child with symptoms. It's going to be a tough few terns but it has to be. They are better keeping you all at home if they can because so many people will be off with children.
    Hopefully they see sense x

Ah I didn't realise it was all of them but of course that makes sense

Fingers crossed work are sensible and keep everyone home who is home, and grant more people home work, as there are some at work who want to work from home but haven't been offered it xx

  • Hey everyone. How is everyone doing?
I spoke to my boss once he returned from leave and I am still working from home yay! Till at least after christmas which is good, one of the year three classes has been sent home as a child tested positive, that’s my daughters year group but it wasn’t her class

I did an extra 60 hours over the last month so have a lovely healthy wage coming on wed, I plan on starting (and hopefully getting a lot of) Christmas shopping

    and

    ........

I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST woo hoo!

I am so so so happy, it was weird going from my driving instructors car to my 4x4 but I’m getting used to it

  • Thank you, it’s a life saver already! We are in local lockdown so I’ve lost some of my childcare so I’m doing the school run three times a week two of which are working days, it takes 80 mins on foot but 30 mins in car so it’s saving me having to work extra late to make the time back up.

Hello everyone  :) Happy New Year, I really hope 2021 is better for everyone than 2020, having said that we had some positives in 2020, my kids became even closer to each other than they already were which I didn’t think was even possible, the hubby completed his teaching degree and I of course passed my driving test.
I am LOVING driving, I love it so much, it’s so nice being able to go where I want (when we aren’t in lockdown that is)

I am still working from home, no word on a return date yet, they are trying to get kit sorted for more of the office staff to be able to be home. Anxiously waiting for news on if the kids definitely are going back to school on Monday or not.

Hubby is getting a bit stir crazy working from home, he’s dying to get back in the office but that’s not possible right now.

I have updated my signature, paid off £3669.48 in 2020, not a massive amount but it’s better than nothing :)

I’ve joined the POAMAYC challenge again.

I’ve decided to focus on our Next catalogue next to be overpaid, I want that gone, the minimum is £140 a month, what I am going to do is, I have a set weekly food budget, and what I don’t spend that week I will overpay the next account 50% of it, and the other 50% I am going to put on a Asda savings card, now you can use them on the online groceries website I am aiming to save on there to have a potential free month of groceries in December, that’s my plan anyway lol

Shopping is coming tomorrow so will update those then

I hope everyone is doing ok xx
